**STOP WASTING YOUR FUTURE STUDYING A COURSE YOU HAVE NO PLAN FOR! 💔😭**
Let me tell you a story that might touch your heart.
Imagine a young man who grew up in a poor family. His parents struggled every day to pay his school fees. His mother sold things in the market, while his father worked tirelessly just to make sure their son could graduate from university.
Whenever his mother was tired, she would look at him and say, “My son, you are our only hope. We don't want you to suffer the way we suffered. Please, study hard so that one day, you can take care of us.”
Those words became his motivation.
He entered the university, not because he loved the course he was studying, but because it was the course he could get admission into. Deep down, he wanted to study something else, but he was afraid of disappointing his parents.
So, he continued.
First year became second year. Second year became third year. He wrote examinations, submitted assignments, attended lectures, and struggled through sleepless nights.
Sometimes, he had no money to buy food. Sometimes, he borrowed money from friends just to survive. There were days he wanted to give up, but whenever he remembered his mother's sacrifices, he wiped his tears and continued.
Finally, graduation day arrived.
His parents were so happy. His mother cried tears of joy. She called relatives, neighbours, and friends to tell them that her son had finally graduated.
For that day, their suffering seemed worth it.
But after graduation, reality began to set in.
He started submitting applications everywhere. He sent his CV to companies, searched for vacancies online, and attended interviews. Months passed, then a year. His certificate was hanging on the wall, but the life he had imagined was nowhere to be found.
Whenever his mother called, she would ask, “My son, have you found a job?”
And every time, he would reply, “Not yet, Mummy. I am still trying.”
He began to avoid her calls because he could no longer bear the pain in her voice.
The same young man who once promised to change his family's story was now struggling to feed himself.
One afternoon, he sat alone and looked at his certificate. Tears rolled down his cheeks.
He wasn't crying because he had gone to school. He was crying because he had spent years studying without properly understanding the career opportunities available to him, without developing other practical skills, and without preparing a clear plan for life after graduation.
He wished somebody had told him earlier that getting admission was not the end of the journey. It was only the beginning.
**Now, let me ask you a serious question.**
Are you in school right now?
Are you studying a course you don't even understand why you chose?
Are you only there because your parents want you to graduate, because your friends are in school, or because you believe any certificate will automatically give you the life you dream of?
Please, pause for a moment and think about your future.
I'm not saying that your course is useless. No course should be dismissed simply because some graduates struggle to find jobs. Many fields offer opportunities, but those opportunities may require additional training, experience, professional qualifications, networking, or a willingness to explore different career paths.
What I'm saying is this: **don't spend four, five, or six years studying without finding out what you can do with what you are learning.**
Don't wait until you graduate before you start asking questions about your future.
Find out the career paths available in your field. Talk to people already working in that profession. Discover the skills employers need. Look for internships, practical experience, and ways to build your competence while you are still a student.
And if you discover that the course you are studying is not aligned with your interests or goals, don't just remain confused. Explore your options carefully, seek proper guidance, and make an informed decision before spending more years on a path you don't want.
Your parents may be sacrificing everything to send you to school, but you also have a responsibility to take your future seriously.
**Don't just study to graduate. Study with a plan.**
Because the real pain is not simply graduating without a job. It is reaching the end of your studies and realizing that you never prepared yourself for what comes next.
Your future is too important to leave entirely to chance.
And remember, you can pursue your education while learning a practical skill, building experience, or developing a business. You don't have to wait until graduation to start preparing for the life you want.
If you are already in school, it is not too late to start planning.
If you have graduated and things are not working out as expected, your story is not over either. You can still learn, adapt, acquire new skills, and explore new opportunities.
**Your current situation does not have to determine your future, but the decisions you make today can help shape it. ❤️**
Please, if you have a younger brother, sister, child, or friend in school, share this message with them. Let them understand that education matters, but planning for life after education matters too.
**QUESTION: If you could go back to the day you chose your course of study, would you choose the same course again? Why or why not?** 💔👇
