Good design is really about how people live in a space, not just how the space looks.

This project has been a reminder that interior design goes far beyond finishes and furniture. It is about circulation, natural light, spatial flow, functionality, proportions, how one room connects to another, and how the home eventually supports the people living in it.

That is also why bringing an interior designer in early makes such a difference. Once major work has already been completed, correcting things that compromise the final outcome can become more expensive than planning them properly from the beginning.

Project ABI has involved a lot of rethinking, coordination and problem-solving, but that is the part of design I find most interesting. A beautiful home should not only photograph well. It should make sense to live in.

I lost my dad a couple of days ago.

This isn’t a post asking for sympathy. It’s simply a moment of gratitude for a man whose fingerprints are on every project I create today and on every skill I’ve developed over the years.

As I was on site this week, styling and documenting another completed project, I kept thinking about where all of this really began. Years ago, during an ASUU strike that lasted 8months, I told my dad I wanted to learn graphic design and web design instead of sitting idle at home. He believed me enough to buy me my very first laptop.

I still have that laptop today.

On it, I designed my first magazine on inDesign. I spent countless hours learning design on photoshop, understanding colour, experimenting with creativity, and developing skills that would eventually shape my career.

Even before then, I loved art. I painted, sketched, and created anything I could. While many people saw it as just a hobby, my dad never stopped supporting my curiosity. He made sacrifices that I understand even more as an adult. He invested in my education, my health, and my dreams long before there was any evidence they would become a career.

Looking back now, I realise that Interior By Harry didn’t begin when I registered a business or completed my first project. It began with parents who kept saying yes to a young boy’s curiosity. Today, every space I design carries a small piece of that belief.

So this one is for you Daddy. Thank you for seeing something in me before the rest of the world did. I pray for the grace to keep making you proud. Rest well Nna m.

ProjectTEE24 — The Master Bedroom

This wasn’t decoration, it was a complete rethinking of how the space should function, feel, and flow.

Every line was corrected.
Every element was intentional.

This is what happens when design is treated as architecture, not aesthetics.

Be honest, before seeing the after… would you have thought this space had this much potential?

ProjectTEE24 — The Master Bedroom

From raw construction to complete stillness. A brief moment of chaos, then everything resolves into clarity.

This master bedroom was conceived as an architectural retreat where structure dictates the experience and every element aligns with intent. The goal was never decoration, but the creation of a space that feels grounded, immersive and controlled through material, proportion and light.

Paneling was pushed beyond the expected, extending fully into the ceiling plane to form a continuous architectural envelope. This removes visual interruptions and allows the space to read as one unified composition.

The palette is restrained and deliberate. Warm wood tones, soft neutrals and textured stone introduce depth without overwhelming the space. Lighting was layered with precision to define form, guide movement and maintain a calm, balanced atmosphere.

Every line, junction and transition was resolved to preserve clarity and visual harmony throughout the room.

This is what happens when a bedroom is treated as architecture, not decoration.
