Curtains can completely change the mood of a space and the style you choose matters.
From soft ripple folds and classic pinch pleats to layered sheers, floor-to-ceiling drapes and statement prints, there’s a curtain style for every interior.
In recent times, we’re seeing window treatments become more intentional, playing with texture, colour, layering and proportion rather than simply “covering the windows.”
Swipe through for some of the curtain styles we’re loving right now. 🤎
Which one would you choose for your space?
Floor-to-ceiling curtains
Still one of the strongest looks for a luxurious interior.
Instead of stopping at the window frame, take the curtains from close to the ceiling all the way to the floor. It makes the windows feel larger and the ceiling feel taller.
Designer tip: Use a ceiling-mounted track for an especially seamless look.
Layered curtains — sheer + blackout
This is probably my #1 recommendation for luxury Nigerian homes in 2026.
Think:
Sheer inner curtain + decorative/blackout outer curtain.
During the day, you get filtered light and softness. At night, you can close the heavier layer for privacy and darkness. Designers are specifically highlighting layered drapery as a major 2026 direction.
Ripple-fold curtains
Very clean, contemporary and expensive-looking.
The fabric falls into consistent soft waves, rather than obvious pleats. It works particularly well in modern apartments, contemporary living rooms and bedrooms.
This would be gorgeous in:
* Warm ivory
* Mushroom
* Taupe
* Chocolate brown
* Soft olive
Pinch pleats — but modernised
Pinch pleats are coming back, but the 2026 version feels tailored rather than overly traditional.
Think beautiful linen, velvet or textured fabric with clean, structured pleats.
EYELET CURTAINS 👀
Clean, simple and effortlessly stylish.
Eyelet curtains are designed with metal rings at the top, creating those soft, even folds when hung on a curtain rod. They’re easy to use and give a space a relaxed, contemporary feel without looking too formal.
Think: modern, effortless and uncomplicated.
