Your gut might need more than probiotics 👀🦠

When we talk about gut health, many people immediately think about probiotics. But your gut also needs fiber to thrive. 🌱

Foods like yogurt, bananas, ugu, spinach, beans, and sweet potatoes can all be part of a gut-friendly diet.

And the best part? You don’t need expensive “gut health” products to start supporting your gut. Sometimes, it starts with the everyday foods already in your kitchen. 🍌🥬🫘🍠

Now tell me: Which one of these foods do you eat most often? 👇🏽

“Chekeleke, give me one more finger!” 😂🐦

If you grew up in Nigeria, you probably sang this as a child without thinking twice about those little white marks on your nails.

But wait… 👀

What if your child’s nails are trying to tell you something?

White spots on the nails (leukonychia) can happen for different reasons, and they don’t automatically mean iron deficiency. But persistent or unusual nail changes are worth paying attention to.

And here’s the bigger conversation: anaemia remains a major concern among Nigerian children. The 2024 NDHS reports that 58% of children aged 6–59 months in Nigeria are anaemic. 😳🇳🇬

So what can parents do?

🍖 Liver
🐟 Fish
🫘 Beans
🥬 Ugu and other leafy vegetables
🍊 Oranges
🫑 Bell peppers
🍅 Tomatoes

Pairing iron-containing foods with vitamin C-rich foods can help improve iron absorption.

And abeg… don’t diagnose anaemia from somebody’s fingernails. 😂 If you’re concerned about your child, get them properly assessed.

Correct cure dey inside your pot… but proper diagnosis no dey inside Chekeleke. 😂❤️

Save this for a Nigerian parent.
Share it with someone who still remembers “give me one more finger!” 😂

Palm oil is NOT the villain. 👀🫢

Before you completely ban red palm oil from your kitchen because of something you saw online, let’s talk facts. 🧠🥄

Yes, palm oil contains saturated fat, so portion size matters. But unrefined red palm oil also contains carotenoids (provitamin A) and antioxidants.

And groundnut oil? It’s also predominantly unsaturated fat—but that doesn’t mean you should pour it freely either. 😅

The goal isn’t to find one “perfect” cooking oil.

👉🏽 The goal is moderation, variety and using the right amount.

Because as we say: Correct cure dey inside your pot, no be for bottle! 😂

So, which one do you use more often—PALM OIL ❤️ or GROUNDNUT OIL 🥜?
