Another appointment, another doodle 🌴

I was able to turn an appointment day into an art day as well! 🎨 I’m trying to suss out what I want my next major thematic dive for my paintings to be, so I thought I’d start out with a little guy to dip my toes back in the water, so to speak. This one is from last summer’s magical trip to Lake Maggiore 🏝️

Another little sketchy sketch from this past weekend. I found a little spot to sit while I waited to be picked up and I enjoyed the heck out of doodling in the nice weather. I love when I have the time and space to slow down and notice the little things that make a place special that I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise ❤️

I plopped myself down in a café this morning and sketched some Eurasian Magpies while I waited for my appointment time. I forgot how fun it is to noodle around with just a pen. I definitely have to do this more! 🐦 🖊️

Don’t forget that our ✨Closing Reception ✨for Rooted will be Wednesday, April 15, from 4:00 PM–6:00 PM. The art exhibition does not officially end until April 19, but this is a great time to meet the artists and view the art beyond our normal hours.

No tickets required..
Full Exhibition Details

Dates: Now until April 19th

Conservatory open hours/Gallery hours are:
Wednesday - Friday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Some artwork will be available for purchase. Sold artwork will remain on view for the duration of the exhibition. Art pickup will be April 22 - 26 during our open hours.

Yesterday I walked through the spring show at for the first time. I was so impressed by the lovely way the organizers curated and hung the show, and how all of the art worked seamlessly with the plant life throughout the space. It was so lovely to see my pieces hanging alongside other artists’ exemplary work. I enjoyed exploring the show with friends and family, and I’m really looking forward to going again! 🌼

Four of my paintings were accepted into Rawlings Conservatory & Botanical Gardens‘ Spring Art show Rooted, showing from April 1–19!

I haven’t posted in a while, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping busy! Since I last posted I made an international move back to the United States, taught an Intro to Acrylic Painting adult class, sewed my first ever (king-sized) quilt, crocheted my first ever cardigan, knitted some Christmas present hats, and made some new pillows for my new office setup. What sort of crafts and art hobbies to you do to keep yourself busy? I have so many hobbies already, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to try out a million more! 🧶 🪡🧵
