Every building tells its own story.
Our job is to listen; then respond with something quietly bold, considered, and minimal.

We find as much joy in the process as we do in the finished result. The details, the decisions, the moments on site when everything clicks into place.

This is why we do it.

We have been working on something.

A short series on what a renovation in Amsterdam actually looks like.
The design decisions, the construction process, the moments no one tells you about before you start.

Starting soon. Follow along 🤎

Kitchen counter, up close and in context.

The terrazzo countertop from our Jordaan project. A material chosen for how it behaves in different light, how it sits alongside the walnut, and how it feels underhand.

We love the variety of colour tones, working with a mixture of materials in the home.

Jordaan, Amsterdam. 2023.

We keep coming back to this one.

Lighter tones as the backdrop. Curves introducing softness. Darker accents grounding the space without disrupting the whole.

Different forms and materials all in conversation with each other. A space that feels collected rather than designed.

A beautiful space means nothing if it doesn’t work.

Scale and functionality sit at the heart of every decision we make; how you move through a room, how the proportions hold, how a kitchen functions at seven in the morning.

The details make a space truly liveable; that is what we design for.

Found at the Saint-Ouen markets, Paris.

Objects from different eras in conversation with each other; and somehow completely at ease. Modernist design at its best. Bold in form, sure of itself, nothing wasted.

We come to Paris for exactly this.

Floor details in the Musée Picasso, Paris.

Worn limestone, irregular in tone, imperfect in surface. The kind of material that only gets better with age.

A floor holds a space together. This one has been doing it for centuries.

A gorgeous stone arch at the Musée Picasso, Paris.

Raw stone meeting the plastered wall with almost no transition at all. The contrast and harmony between the two is where the beauty lives.

No colour. Just form doing exactly what it needs to do.

This is the reference we carry home.

Studio P3 was founded by Peta in Amsterdam in 2020; but the thinking behind it started much earlier.

Growing up in Cape Town, studying architecture in South Africa, then urban design in the Netherlands; each chapter shaped a way of looking at space that moves between scales. From the city to the room. From the street to the surface.

Each year Peta travels to Salone del Mobile in Milan, Cersaie in Bologna, and Japan to stay connected to the best of what design and craft has to offer.

Contemporary and thoughtful. Quietly evolving. That has always been the intention.

Studio P3. Amsterdam-based interior architecture and design studio.

We are a small, dedicated team; and we work that way on purpose. Every project is handled with close personal attention, built around a trusted network of local contractors, cabinetry artisans, and suppliers we have worked with over the years.

Each year we travel across Europe to attend leading design, furniture, and tile fairs. Not to follow trends; but to make sure every project reflects the best of what contemporary design and timeless craft has to offer.

If you are thinking about a renovation, we would love to hear from you.
