GIVEAWAY - Win a full L’Envie scholarship!

Eight years ago, at the start of my own floral career, I applied for a scholarship to a workshop in Italy that I had been dreaming about. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for the partial scholarship I received, I probably would have never taken the leap.

To invest in myself and my dreams. To overcome my fear of travelling alone and not knowing anyone. To move past the insecurities I felt about where I was in my career.

To this day, I’m still incredibly grateful to that florist (who I now also get to call my dear friend ā¤ļø) for giving me that opportunity. Because I truly believe it changed so much for me. It created a butterfly effect, without which I wouldn’t be where I am, or who I am, today.

That’s why I really want to pay it forward. So we’re giving away a full scholarship for our .workshop in France this summer.

Applications are open until Tuesday, and I know (because I’ve spoken to some of you) that there are people out there thinking this isn’t for them yet.
I’m here to tell you that’s nonsense!

If something in you feels called to this experience, you belong here. Whether you’re just starting out, haven’t even started, or have been in the industry for years, this opportunity is for anyone who feels inspired by it.

So get behind your computer and apply! All info on how to in the last slide!

We can’t wait to read your story. šŸ¤—

Love,
Annelies

PS: Please share this with someone, or tag someone below, who you think might need to hear this. It’s becoming harder and harder to reach people through this platform, and it would be such a shame if someone missed out on this opportunity because they never got to see it. 🄰

I’ve been wanting to post this for days but everyday they just keep getting better and better and I think: maybe tomorrow I’ll get an even more perfect shot.

My absolute favorite time of year in the garden: bearded iris and foxglove, and preferabely the two together, like in this border next to the greenhouse that I loveeee.

I had the great honour of being selected by Gert Voorjans and the KMSKA to be part of the exhibition In Full Bloom, where floral artists enter in to dialogue with the art collection of the museum.

Gert chose the artwork Ode Ć  l’Oubli by Louise Bourgeois for me to work with, and it was love at first sight. Its softness, fragility, and subtle use of color immediately drew me in.

As I learned more, I discovered how she created this work using textiles from her past; materials already filled with memory. By cutting, rearranging, stitching, and composing them into geometric patterns and forms, she doesn’t just make something new, but reshapes what has been. The work doesn’t speak about memory, it becomes it.

In that process, I found a strong connection to my own practice with flowers. I also work with living materials that carry their own story. I compose and guide them, but try not to control them completely, following their natural movement instead.

In response, I translated her sense of order and imperfection into a shifting grid, where structure and openness coexist. Within those gaps, flowers emerge. Free, organic, and ever-changing.

I chose to work with seasonal flowers, because their fleeting nature holds so much power. A scent, or the brief presence of a bloom, can suddenly bring you back to a specific moment in time, and a linked emotion.

For me there lies the power of flowers: they are so temporary and fleeting, yet capable of holding something lasting.

What a week it has been! Full of encounters, conversations, and new impressions. I’m still processing it all, but I’ve loved every minute so far. I’m deeply grateful to Gert Voorjans, Carmen Willems, Annelien de Troij, Lief Meeus, and everyone at the KMSKA for the warmth, trust, and collaboration. And it was such a pleasure to meet so many talented fellow floral artists!

The exhibition is open until May 10th!
Have you visited? Would love to hear it in the comments! 🄰

Our Monet-inspired installation from yesterday, the final day of the 3-day wedding florist course.

These past 3 days have been so intense and insanely beautiful! We had such a fun small group of super excited florists. Their childlike enthusiasm made me remember how much fun and wonder I felt myself when exploring floristry as a beginner!

Each of their creations were so beautiful and unique, and this large scale installation on our final day was the cherry on top. It is honestly even more stunning in real life, like stepping in to a true impressionist painting.
I’m superproud of what you created dear Bara, Camille and Sara! Thank you so much for our time together! ā¤ļø
