Cities don't have a flood problem.
They have a heat problem.

Here's what most people don't know:

About 60% of all the rivers on Earth are now floating in the air above us.

Why? Because the Earth has heated up.
It's about 1.5°C hotter than it was 150 years ago.

That sounds tiny — but it's not.

Warm air holds more water — like a sponge.
1.5°C hotter means about 10% more water in the sky.
And that 10% is about the same as 60% of every river on Earth.

All of it has to fall.

And our cities make it even worse.

Here's what happens, step by step:

1️⃣ Concrete and glass soak up the sun all day.
2️⃣ Air conditioners blow more heat into the streets.
3️⃣ The hot air over the city holds even more water.
4️⃣ It rains — and it pours hard.
5️⃣ The paved streets can't soak it up.
6️⃣ The water has nowhere to go. So the city floods.

So hot cities get flooded.

At Biotonomy, we design cities the other way around.

Trees on the streets.
