Amsterdam Canal House | Living & Dining 🤍🩶

Warm minimalism under historic beams.

We kept the original ceiling structure as the backbone of the space and built a calm, layered palette around it: soft linen seating on dark walnut bases, travertine tables and bronze accents.

🕯️ Canal House Living | Amsterdam

Tucked beneath centuries-old oak beams, this canal-side apartment balances Amsterdam heritage with a soft, sculptural calm.

Bouclé curves, warm walnut and brushed steel meet under a linear pendant, while a deep blue wall sculpture anchors the living space.

Upstairs, the bedroom leans into quiet — a paper lantern glow, a sloped attic ceiling and natural oak joinery.
Old bones, new stories.

✨ How We Work — behind the scenes at S23

From first sketch to final render, every project moves through the same layered process: a loose concept sketch to lock in mood and form, a watercolor pass to explore materials and finishes, a technical breakdown with real dimensions and specs, and finally — the fully rendered space, true to life. This living room brings it all together: a sculptural globe pendant, curved bouclé seating, and a coffee table grounded in Cipollino marble.

It’s the difference between a pretty picture and a space that’s actually buildable.

Top Floor Canal Apartment — Amsterdam 🌷

We created this high-end apartment in a forgotten canal attic. This dining space is tucked under the original beam structure, playing warm wood against cool stone. A paper pendant and floor lantern cast the kind of low, golden light that makes you want to linger at the table a little longer.

A clean, elevated look for what was once an unused space — proof that even a forgotten attic can become the best room in the house.

Living and dining space, Amsterdam souterrain studio on Herengracht 🌊☀️

Stone flooring , smoked fluted glass catching the light, a copper door — and acrylic chairs floating around the table like something out of a coastal dream.

Below street level, above the ordinary.

Herengracht — monumental living 🏛️

Design for a first floor, back side canal apartment in Amsterdam. A canal house living room with rich ornamental plasterwork and an original marble mantel, transformed into a warm, contemporary home.

We honored the building’s original soul — the ornate mouldings, the generous proportions, the natural light — while building a calm, contemporary layer around it.

New flooring and a high end kitchen ties old and new together, while a paper globe pendant and polished glass coffee table bring a soft, modern finish to the room.

The outcome: a monumental space, quietly reborn.

Same room, two moods 🌙☀️

Keizersgracht — living room by night and by day. Boucle curves, marble spheres, and a moon pendant that carries the space either way.

Warm and intimate after dark, soft and sunlit by morning.
