Here are some impressions from our trip to Guatemala last week. The new rooms of .co are coming along nicely. In addition to the new rooms, we've also designed the masterplan of the entire new extension, including managing the balance between amount of rooms with green-spaces and courtyard.

A little project update from Amsterdam Zuidoost. We’ve been working on the interior design for ’s new permanent home, and construction has been going on for a few weeks now.

It’s always exciting to see a project move from drawings and ideas into an actual space. The new location will be a modern West African restaurant and cultural platform, with a strong connection to the neighbourhood.

The bulk of the work should be finished over the next month, so we’re looking forward to seeing everything come together. More to come!

We recently passed by ’s store on Korte Poten in Den Haag, which has been updated with elements from the franchise’s new interior design concept.

We kept the tiled counter and half-high back wall, as they’re both iconic and practical. They work very well with the new colours and shelving system, giving the space a fresh look while keeping some of its familiar character.

Next week, we are travelling to Antigua to check on the status of the extension of .co .

We always look forward to travelling to Guatemala, immersing ourselves in the colourful environment and neighbourhoods, and collaborating with local companies and craftsmen.

Our design vision for the Ammodo office was to create a representative and functional space that embraces the social aspect of working together. We aimed to seamlessly integrate the character of the monumental Westergas building with contemporary design elements. The office needed to cater to outside guests while providing a conducive environment for employees.

The design concept focused on enhancing collaboration and informal meetings, while maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere. The office was divided into two floors, each with its own unique features and purpose.

As part of a new franchise concept for De Pizzabakkers, we started by defining the brand before translating it into a physical space. The challenge was to balance the
efficiency of a growing franchise with the warmth and familiarity of a neighbourhood restaurant.

Looking back at origins, Ninetynine returned to its original motto: Pizza & Prosecco.

The choice was natural: to place the pizza experience at the heart of the concept by giving the oven a central role within the space. Around it, the bar becomes a natural meeting point, celebrating the prosecco offering while creating an open, social setting where making, serving, and gathering come together.

Our design for the D.E Café pavilion at@westfieldmallofthenetherlands . A system of wooden fins connected by steel tubes and oak shelves creates an intimate yet permeable space which invites the passer by to take a coffee break while shopping. ⁠
We've recently started working on a similar project located within a shopping mall and have been looking back at this project, which was also our very first design of the Douwe Egberts Café rebrand. Based on the look and feel defined in this pavilion, we developed the final D.E Café toolbox that we use for the various locations across the Netherlands.

A classic Ninetynine project we keep coming back to for reference: TSH Collab.

An integral puzzle-piece of the former The Student Hotel’s connected community, bringing co-living, co-working and social spaces together under one roof.

A project that still inspires us for the way it creates a strong identity while making space for connection, movement and everyday life.

The traditional stained-glass windows and monumental tile tableaus of Café de Parel, combined with smoked massive oak, brass details, unfinished concrete and strips of purple/grey mdf, created a style that unites tradition, homeliness and authenticity.

The café was only 44m2 and everything was being prepared in sight. This starting point was translated into a long, central bar that accommodates the food preparations and the substantial w**e selection. There is no hard line between the two functions.

The interior of is divided into two sections. The first, with its high ceiling, large windows and classic inner facade with cast-iron columns supporting the mezzanine, is impressive and filled with natural light.

Below the mezzanine’s original wooden beam ceiling, the second section feels cosier, with a more intimate lighting scheme.
