Rectangular coffee table with tiles La Roue by Vallauris • This steel-framed coffee table has a top made of 32 ceramic tiles. It is signed “La Roue Vallauris” (La Roue means “the wheel”). The base is very elegant, with four metal legs that curve in all four directions.

Mid-century modern smoked glass table lamp by Doria Leuchten • The base of this table lamp from German lighting specialist Doria Leuchten is made of smoked glass. It contains three bulbs, creating a magical atmosphere. Another bulb is located beneath the striped shade.

This lamp features many lush brass accents.

Mid-century modern pair of geese of lucite made by Abraham Palatnik

Pair of geese designed and made by Abraham Palatnik.

Brazilian artist Abraham Palatnik (1928 – 2020) was the founder of the technological movement in Brazilian art and a pioneer in making kinetic sculptures.

In the late 1940s (1949) he created his first “Kinechromatic Devices”. Many optical experiments followed in the 1950s and 1960s.

Part of the Artimis collection with hundreds of different figurines. They are mainly animals, but also human and abstract figures can be found in it.

Painting by Jac. Haan, manager of the famous department store Metz & Co.
A beautifully detailed painting by Jac. Haan, interior designer and former manager of the furniture department at the renowned Dutch department store Metz & Co. The painting depicts a realistically painted houseplant. It is likely a Lemon White Stripe Dracaena in a large silver pot. The surrounding frame is painted in fresh blue, white, and yellow, in the style of Mondrian.

Metz & Co. was a department store in Amsterdam founded in 1740. Interior designer Jac. Haan took charge of Metz & Co.’s furniture department in 1963. After retiring, he began painting. A perfectionist, he created only a few works. Haan died in 2014.

Eccentric XXL wall object of a belly dancer of hammered copper.

This exotic dancer from the oriental world is beautifully dressed in an emerald green robe and decorated with mainly silver jewelry. She looks her audience in the eyes concentrated.

On her left hip hangs a silver pouch or jewelry attached to her waistband with a chain.

A beautiful piece in which new details can always be discovered.

This beautiful and cheerful wall plaque depicts a Swiss spring scene. A man and a woman in suits enjoy their newfound love on a lawn next to a flower border.

Everything in bright colors and with a thick, glossy glaze. Folk art of the highest order.

Large wall tile by the Dutch ceramist Frouwien Visser Soenveld.
Frouwien Visser (also known as Frouwien Soenveld) has been working as an artisan potter since 1974, designing and crafting handmade tiles and tile tableaus. Her favorite motifs are animals, insects, and flowers. Frouwien’s work is characterized by a personal style that is easily recognizable. Her work has since been exhibited in numerous museums, culminating in a major retrospective at the Dutch Tile Museum in Otterloo.

This work bears the name Frouwien Visser on the wooden frame and is signed ‘Frouwien Visser ‘85’ on the back.

The dimensions of the tile itself are 46 x 46 cm.
