📍Save this for your Australia road trip through the Yarra Valley
🍷 Follow for more wine, food & travel inspiration

We visited De Bortoli Wines…one of the true pioneers of the Yarra Valley wine scene. And here’s something special… in 2028, this iconic winery will celebrate its 100-year anniversary. A century of winemaking craftsmanship. You can feel that history in everything they do.

What makes De Bortoli even more impressive? They’re not just big, they’re huge. With vineyards spread across four different wine regions in Australia, this family-owned winery has built a legacy that goes far beyond just one valley.

The tasting itself? Exactly what you hope for when visiting a winery like this.
A fantastic host, full of stories and passion.
A stunning location, surrounded by rolling vineyards.
And of course… exceptional wines.

Now let’s talk highlights 👇
🍷 The 2016 Reserve Chardonnay – rich, elegant, and perfectly balanced. This one truly stood out.
🌸 The Rosata – fresh, vibrant, and dangerously easy to drink. Loved that rosé!
🎄 And then… the grand finale: “Christmas Cake in a glass.”
Yes, really. Sweet, warm, full of spices: a dessert wine experience you have to try for yourself.

This is why we love traveling. Discovering places with history, passion, and flavors that surprise you.

If you’re planning a trip to the Yarra Valley, make sure this one is on your list.

Day 200 of our world trip… and what a magical one it turned out to be 🌏✨

The day started slow and peaceful at Halls Gap Tourist Park. The campground gently waking up, birds singing, kangaroos grazing… nature doing its thing in the most beautiful, effortless way 🦘🌿

But hey… it didn’t take us long to decide it was time for a little treat 🍷😄
So off we went to Pomonal Estate for a wine tasting — because when you’re in wine country… you just have to!

Next, we stepped back in time at the Pioneer Cottages. A place full of memories, because we stayed here back in 2014. And we’ll never forget that moment… sitting in the evening sun with a glass of wine, when suddenly a whole group of kangaroos hopped by. Pure magic ✨

And today? It happened again… but even bigger.

Back at our campground, in the golden evening light, we were visited by a large group of emus… walking right past us, together with kangaroos. Like a little welcome committee from the wild 🐦🦘

Moments like these remind us exactly why we travel ❤️

Day 198 of our world trip 🌍 and we’ve arrived in the stunning Grampians National Park after spending two days in the (for us) way-too-busy city of Melbourne.

And wow… what a difference.

We’re staying at Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park, surrounded by breathtaking mountains, fresh air, and wildlife everywhere you look 🦘🦜
This is exactly the kind of place where you slow down, take a deep breath, and just enjoy the moment.

From city chaos to pure nature… and we absolutely love it.

Day 197 of our world trip 🌍 and Today we found ourselves in the most musical and creative corner of Melbourne… St Kilda 🎶

This neighborhood just breathes history. From the iconic Luna Park to the legendary Palais Theatre….you can almost hear the echoes of live music in every street.

What we loved most? The vibe. Everywhere you look: street art, quirky shops, creative energy… and yes, we stumbled upon an amazing record store packed with vinyl treasures and unique finds. Couldn’t resist taking home a piece of artwork from my hero Prince 💜

And then there’s the beach… St Kilda Beach is something else. No big waves here, just calm waters thanks to Port Phillip Bay. But the real magic happens at the pier…

As the sun sets, little penguins return home, quietly nesting between the rocks. Such a special moment to witness 🐧

St Kilda, you surprised us…in the best way.

Day 196 of our world trip… and we’ve arrived in Melbourne 🇦🇺

After days of wine tasting in the Yarra Valley…
learning how to craft our own sparkling wine on the Mornington Peninsula…
and meeting Cam from Southern Seagreens who introduced us to the world of seaweed…

we kept following the flavors of this incredible region.

Fresh oysters on Phillip Island…
wild penguins…
and yes… even a big copperhead snake 😅

And now it’s time for city life.

Today we explored the CBD, walked along the Yarra River,
and ended the day the best way possible:

Moreton Bay bugs in butter and garlic 🤤

Australia… you keep surprising us.

On day 184 of our world trip we drove from Wilsons Promontory National Park to beautiful Yarra Valley. Just an hour outside of Melbourne….and…we have some news to share about our Landcruiser! Check it out!

Day 183 of our world trip 🌍 and today we slowed things down and let the wild Australian coast do the talking. We spent the afternoon at the stunning Squeaky Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Wilsons Promontory National Park.

The sand here is unbelievably white and fine… and yes, it actually squeaks under your feet when you walk on it.

In front of us, powerful waves rolled in from the Southern Ocean 🌊 — waves that have travelled all the way from Antarctica before crashing onto the Australian coastline. With the wind in our faces and the sound of the ocean around us, it felt amazing to just stand there and take it all in.

Moments like this are perfect to pause and reflect.

Six months ago we started this adventure. Since then we’ve seen incredible places, met amazing people, and experienced things we never could have imagined.

Standing there on the beach, watching the endless ocean, we simply let our thoughts wander… and realized once again how special this journey really is. ✨

Day 182 of our world trip and today we hiked 9 kilometers to Tongue Point and Fairy Cove in Wilsons Promontory National Park — and wow… what a trail.

Lots of elevation. Up, down, up again. Legs on fire. But the reward? Following that raw, rugged coastline the entire way.

Perfect hiking weather — not too hot, just that fresh ocean breeze keeping us moving. Exactly what we needed. It felt so good to stretch the legs and get the heart pumping again.

We watched wild waves crashing against the rocks below us, with endless views that looked straight out of a pirate movie. Dramatic cliffs. Deep blue ocean. Pure freedom.

This is why we travel.
Nature. Space. Adventure.

We’re staying one more day to soak up even more of The Prom.

Follow our journey around the world 🌏✨

Day 181 of our world trip was a cold and rainy one here at Tidal Creek campground….but late in the afternoon we could walk upon Tidal Creek and Norman Beach…just a relaxed stroll to clear our minds….
