‘Game Of Wool: Britain’s Best Knitter’ is a new Channel 4 competition hosted by Tom Daley (Tom Daley: Illegal to Be Me). Ten knitters tackle two challenges each week - team-based ‘Big Knit’ builds and solo ‘Wee Knit’ briefs - creating everything from clothing and jewelry to furniture, sculptures, and the occasional yarn-bomb. Set in rural Scotland, the show celebrates the area’s wool heritage.
Judges are Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell, noted for work with fashion houses like Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, and Nike, with a different celebrity guest judge each episode. The series runs eight hour-long episodes.
UK premiere: Sunday 2 November at 8pm on Channel 4. A US premiere date and streaming partner have not yet been announced (but this feels like a show that would sit nicely alongside 'The Great Pottery Throw Down' on HBO Max or 'The Great British Baking Show' on Netflix).
