Weer thuis na wederom een zeer geslaagde editie van Hxtival!

Altijd fijn om hier te zijn; gezellige bezoekers en mede-standhouders, mooi terrein, verzorging altijd dik in orde. En altijd een heerlijk ontspannen sfeertje en goed weer 🌞 (geen idee hoe de organisatie dat toch altijd voor elkaar krijgt, maar prima geregeld 😉😅)

Natuurlijk gelijk weer ingeschreven voor beide edities van 2027. Hopelijk mogen we er dan ook weer bij zijn!

Very nice set of (partial) horns / horn tips from a cow, in a combination of light and dark colors and with a natural rustique look. A good quality set of stable and heavy horn tips, great for all kinds of crafting or decorational purposes.

Sizes; approximately 15 centimeters long, measured in a straight line next to the horns, and diameter measured at the base approximately 7 x 5 centimeters.

Ready made amulet cord, to easily turn your favorite dzi bead or amulet into a necklace. Just string the bead or amulet on the thin strands of cord in the center of this necklace, attach it there with a good knot, cut the rest of the thin strands short and melt the cut ends with a flame (from a lighter or similar) to protect them from fraying.

This cord is made from a good quality, lightweight and durable nylon in a dark brown color. Length (measured the length of the necklace, without the cord ends) is approximately 64 centimeters.

This cord is already decorated with some beads, to increase the power of the amulet that you will attach to it. Two bright green jade beads (12 millimeters long, 7 millimeters wide) are strung in between some small black glass beads.

In traditional shamanism, bells are used for many purposes, because they can serve as houses for spirits and their sound represents the voice of those spirits.

These bells are made in a traditional Chinese model that resembles the shape of a beetle ;-). The brass has been decorated with a pattern of fine lines. This has been done in a simple, factory-made way and, as can be seen on the pictures, is not everywhere done very neatly. But the sound of the bells is okay and they will be a good, neutral, basic model for all your personal ritual and crafting purposes.

These bells are made of brass and measure 60 millimeters long (measured without the eyelet) and 43 millimeters wide. They come to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar.

Recently made brass mirror from Mongolia, with a diameter of 70 millimeters. This mirror comes to us via our friends at Shaman Bazar

Design characteristics:

The backside of this mirror shows a motive that became widespread during the Chinese Song Dynasty (960-1279): a Bagua. This motive is nowadays still one of the most popular in China, protecting against evil and bringing harmony to life.

In the center the 8 trigrams ('Ba Gua') of Par Ha Ge can be seen. The trigram symbols come from very ancient origin; they derive from symbols found on ancient Chinese divination bones dating back as long as 11th century BCE. A related version of bone oracle is still used today by Turkic and Mongolian people, and also in the lineage of Spirit of Wolf Shamanism; 'Khaziki'.

Doubled trigrams form 64 hexagrams, which form the core of the I Ching, the Book of Changes.

Each trigram is a divinatory grapheme and represents different dynamics, energies, cardinal points, animals, seasons etc. In depictions such as on these mirrors, where the 8 of them together form a circle, it symbolizes heavenly order, a healthy balance and right flow of energy.

Very nice calf hide in a mix of different brown and white colors, in great condition. A great item to use on the floor of your practice or altar room or to take with you when doing outdoor rituals. Or of course simply as a very nice piece of home decoration.

Sizes; approximately 85 centimeters long and 96 centimeters wide (measured at the longest and broadest area's). The backside shows the information from the previous seller with its price tag (89 euro).

Whips made with a tail from a yak. These whips are called 'chamara' and are traditionally used in Buddhist, Hinduist and Himalayan shamanic practice. The chamara has a very ancient history. Images of it can be found in the iconography of deities and royalty dating back to at least 300 AD. Its symbolism in such settings can be explained on different levels.

For example lets take a look at its association with royalty. In one way, a fan made of lightweight material such as a yak tail is simply used as a very practical fly whisk. As such it is often seen in the hands of the servants of royal people; to whisk the flies away from their faces. By association, the image of the fly whisk became an important symbol of royalty, leading to it also being held in the hands of the royal people themselves as a symbol of their status.

On yet another level, whisking the king with a chamar also is done to symbolically sweep negative thoughts and heavy emotions away from him, to assist him in keeping a tranquil mind with which he can be a better ruler for his subjects.

From here, the leap to its usage in traditional shamanic practices can of course also easily be made; also in traditional shamanism a whip is considered an indispensable attribute. It is used for many different purposes such as; purifying energyfields from people or locations, expelling evil spirits, directing the energy before or during rituals, protection and opening beneficial pathways and channels.

For different purposes, there can be different types of whips, made with for example horse hair, yak hair, leather braids, colorful cotton braids, or a mix of all the above.

These whips are made with black yak tails. Complete tails including a piece of the hide has been used. The hide-part has been carefully stretched over a wooden handle. Into the top of the wooden handle a simple metal eyelet has been attached, onto which a cord can be attached, to hang the whip on the wrist during ritual.

Dear friends and followers,
For the next two weeks, we will be enjoying some time off.

The webshop will remain active, and orders can still be placed. However please note that they will be shipped after 29 August! (Orders that have been placed earlier this day, 13 August, are already packed and will be brought to the post office early tomorrow morning, on our way to the vacation address 😎).

Emails, chats, pm's etc. will still be read and answered, though it might take us a little bit longer than usual.

From September 1st, we will be back on track full force! With some great things coming up, such as the launch of our fourth and final Element Ritual Set and three very nice events still to come this year;
