STRENGTH

From the Jewels collection

Gifts from the earth.

Mixed media on canvas, 22 x 22 cm

Carpet rock, from the sandstone of Morocco, where water once passed through stone, carrying iron until it settled into pattern.

Resting on a raw surface, the two stones become a quiet focal point. Pieces of earth, treasured like jewels.

In spiritual tradition, carpet rock is associated with grounding, protection and vitality.

Formed slowly. Worth pausing for.

Alongside my paintings, I am working on a new body of work: Jewels.

Art built around natural stones. I choose every stone myself, slowly and intuitively. I hold it, I feel it, and I know when it is the one.

This is a Lemurian laser from Mongolia, with a soft white coating and a beautiful sound. It carries the energy of a shift crystal. It helps you move into a new space, supports spiritual growth and awakens creativity.

Laser quartz is said to have been used in the healing temples of Lemuria and Atlantis. Its shape lets energy travel through the crystal and project from the tip like a laser. It supports meditation, manifestation and dreams, and reminds you that you create your own wellbeing and happiness.

For me, these crystals resonate. A series like this takes time, and I will share the process along the way.

What a lovely week.

Last weekend I was guest artist at an event hosted by Studio Arkie, and today I’m celebrating Open Studio Day together with them.
