📣Attention, attention. We are moving!
From June 1st onwards, we’re going underground to open our ‘appartemento’. Not just anywhere, but right here in this very building. One floor down, hidden in plain sight. This apartment is a cozy space, studio, showroom and meeting place all rolled into one. An experience more edgy, uninhibited and focussed.

The move also comes with a new set of core services: DOEN DESIGNS, DOEN DECORATES, DOEN DIRECTS. From interior design in the broadest sense of the word to coordination of the final ex*****on, these three pillars accommodate the ever-changing market, perfectly.

The store upstairs becomes home to Susan Bijl, The Rotterdam brand of iconic shopping bags and a growing collection of colourful lifestyle objects. Susan Bijl and DOEN share their love for craftsmanship, function and style. Both from their own context, audience and identity. Two brands, one building.

The word is out! We’re incredibly proud to be featured in a full article by , highlighting our exhibition Fragments of Form during the first Rotterdam Design Biennale.

In collaboration with ELLE Decoration, DOEN curated a vibrant and imaginative setting where collectible design, art and unexpected objects come together in bold harmony. The result: a richly layered composition that blurs the line between gallery and living space.

Curated by Eva Pertijs and Monique van der Reijden, Fragments of Form showcases works by artists such as , .dijkstra, .top and . Every corner of the space tells a new story—from brutalist forms to glossy surrealism, and from playful assemblage to tactile craftsmanship.

This feature celebrates not only the launch of our exhibition, but also the growing appreciation for collectible design as part of everyday interiors.

PIM TOP
The work of Pim Top is probably more influenced by his studies at Erasmus University (Cultural Sciences, Philosophy, Art History) than by his brief stint at the art academy. Every image he creates stems from studies examining how we perceive 2D images and how, since the beginning of time, we have translated our reality onto flat surfaces to communicate.

His recent collages add a tactile element to his mostly digital work by incorporating different types of (photo) paper. The compositions are still created digitally, now with a focus on a more abstract style. Although the works appear busy and maximalist, he prefers to refer to them as his more “minimal” pieces.
