Industrial within Loskade, one of six. each interior explores a different perspective on the value of design. Industrial is a tribute to Dutch design classics—furniture created to last for generations rather than a single trend or season. The story begins at the drawing table. Designed by Friso Kramer, this industrial drafting table recalls an era when every idea started with pencil, ruler and compass. It represents the place where concepts were developed before becoming furniture that would earn international recognition.The seating area brings together three icons of Dutch design. The tubular steel armchair by Gispen reflects the introduction of modern steel furniture in the Netherlands. The BR02 sofa bed by Martin Visser demonstrates how minimalism and comfort can exist in perfect balance. Together, they represent a generation of designers who believed in honest materials, clear construction and timeless design.Around the meeting table are the iconic Result Chairs and Pyramid Table, designed by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld. Their clever folded-steel construction reduced material use while making the furniture stronger and more efficient to produce. The Result Chair remains so relevant that it is now back in production through HAY and sold around the world.What connects all of these designs is the philosophy behind them: using less material, creating intelligent constructions, simplifying production and building furniture that lasts for decades. The term circular economy did not yet exist, but the principles were already there.More than seventy years later, these pieces are still in daily use. They are repaired, reupholstered, passed on and appreciated by new generations. Many are now worth more than when they first left the factory. They prove that the greatest contribution to sustainability begins at the drawing table. Together, they demonstrate how design can create value in different ways.
