The from is one of my favorite patterns to make, but getting the point right at the center front can be a challenge...

The pattern instructions advice you to put the cups between the fashion fabric and the lining. Especially with bigger cups it can give some frustrations to get it right.

What I do is sewing the cups in like I'm planning to use underwire channeling. You can use underwire channeling to finish the raw seam, but it can be bulky at the centre front and it makes the whole bra a little more stiff.

Instead of underwire channeling, I use stabilizing tape, cut on the bias, made from sheer cuplining. In my previouse video I explain how you can make the stabilizing tape yourself.

I hope you find this alternative way helpfull and give the Sahaara bra an other trye if this part of assembling was where you gave up before.

Making your own stabilizing tape isn't hard at all and perfect for all kinds of use. Think of stabilizing your neckine or cover a seam.

I used a bias tape maker (no idea if that is the official name of this tool 😅) with a mounth of 1,5 cm wide.

I cut a strap of leftover sheer cuplining of 4cm wide.
- cut on bias if you need some meganical stretch or make a curve.
- cut on grain if you need an absolutely stable strap of fabric.

Use a needle and thread to get the fabric trough the bias tape maker. Without can be a real challenge because the fabric is so thin and soft 😵‍💫.

Set your iron on a low setting so the fabric won't melt. Spray some water on the fabric and iron to set your fold.

Fold double and iron again.

Your stabilizing tape is ready to use 🥳✨️

Pattern

➡️ Just adding a little extra comfort to already comfortabel straps ✨️😉. Just because I can and this pattern is perfect to do this .

You need a little left over cut and sew foam about 16 cm long. The length can be diffrent depending on your cupsize an preference. Use your strap part of the uppercup as patternpiece (the sheer ore solid version of the pattern)

Secure the cut and sew foam with a zigzag stitch all around.

If you don't like how it looks on the outside; use some satin ribbon, bows, pretty left over shoulderstrap elastic to cover up the ugly seams.

All that's left to do now is finnish up the edges with fold over elastic and your extra comfy straps are done ☺️🥰

🤞🏼 fingers crossed it works for bigger cupsizes to!! That would be so cool 🥰✨️! I love a verry sheer bra, but I prefair a lined one du to comfort and support.
