Everyone loves a good before and after. But what about the stories in between?

When I first met the client, she’d already been through the design process once before. The concept had squared everything off, and in doing that, she felt she was going to lose what made the space special in the first place.

So we reworked it. Looked at how the space actually wanted to function, brought the curves and angles back into focus, and let the architecture lead the decisions. Nothing overcomplicated, just considered choices, texture where it mattered, and details that felt like they belonged.

This is one of those transformations that doesn’t scream for attention, but feels completely different to live in.

A soft moment in pink.

While the palette leans mostly into greys and whites, we couldn’t resist weaving in a little colour through the Foxy vanity and Wafer wall. Subtle, considered, and just enough to lift the space.

Designed to feel calm, feminine, and quietly playful within this 60s reno.

A fun pair of bathrooms for a gorgeous Ponsonby apartment.

When the client wanted something a little bit different, we didn’t hesitate. A perfect mix of Playful and a little unexpected. Proof that bathrooms don’t have to play it safe to feel considered.

Cheers to the long weekend 🥂

Daylight saving is out, moody evenings are in… and suddenly staying home feels like the better plan.

Low lighting, something strong in your glass, and a bar that’s doing most of the heavy lifting. Entertaining if you feel like it, disappearing into your own little corner if you don’t.

Cozy, indulgent, and very hard to leave.

This kitchen is all about what’s happening beneath the surface.

Every storage decision has been carefully resolved to support how the space is actually used, from integrated solutions through to the finer joinery detailing and hidden breakfast nook. The goal was to create something that feels calm and effortless, while working incredibly hard behind the scenes.

A considered layout, refined material palette, and cabinetry that does more than just look good. It’s designed to carry the weight of everyday living without ever feeling overworked.

A glimpse into something that’s been quietly evolving in the background.

Soft stone, deep contrast, and a moment of stillness framed by nature.
A space designed to indulge, a space to pause, and a space to reset.

Before It Begins | Vol. 1
Do I actually need a designer?

I’m going to go with yes… but I may be a little biased 🤭

It’s rarely about whether you need a designer at all, and more about understanding what kind of support will actually make your project work.

Read the first blog in the Before It Begins series to find out what that looks like.

Introducing Before It Begins

A new series for the stage where you’re not quite ready to start,
but you are thinking about it… a lot.

A space to unpack the decisions that sit behind every project, long before anything is drawn or built.

Do I actually need a designer?
How much is this going to cost?
Where do I even start?

Stay tuned. First blog dropping Monday.

After designing kitchens for years, one thing has become very clear to me.

The best kitchens aren’t always the Pinterest-worthy showpieces.

They’re the ones that support a hard-working family. The ones that change the way you cook, move and live within the space.

I get it. Life is busy. I’m a messy cook, there’s family running around, and most days something is simmering on the stove while I answer emails in between. A good kitchen needs to hold all of that.

Then, when the day slows down, it becomes something else entirely. A quiet place to sit with a cup of tea, to reset, to simply be at home.

Those are the kitchens I care about most.

From the archive.
One of our favourites that wasn’t meant to be.

A kitchen designed around contrast and calm. Deep espresso cabinetry wrapped in richly veined stone that was always intended to be the hero. Soft whites to lift the room, bronze accents to warm it, and just enough symmetry to let the materials speak for themselves.

Not long after concept stage, the clients’ plans unexpectedly shifted and this beautiful home was sold. A different path, a new adventure.

Some projects never reach construction, but they still hold a place in the studio story.
