Amigurumay 2026 | Day 29 - Throwback

This was my first post, in 2018, when I decided to do crochet "professionally", after being at my new home = New Zealand for a few months. And while i did stay with the name Aroha Crochet (until a few months ago) this didn't end up being my logo.
And yes, that post had 2 likes!! 2 LIKES!

Side note ..... I am still trying to do this professionally, but not there yet. 😏🫡

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 28 - Mistake or masterpiece?

This bunny might not be a masterpiece but wasn't a total mistake either.

I started with the bottom white, very confident that i had more of the same shade in my stash, just to realise that it wasn't white but beige (perks of crocheting at night....) and then of course I also ran out of the beige, so finished up with brown and called her my Mocka Bunny! 🤍🤎🩷

I love how she turned out, but definitely a mistake not checking my supplies before starting a project!!

Amigurumay 2026 | Books - Day 25

Since my kids love to go to the library (even tho they have an insane amount of books) I always take this opportunity to get my self some books for inspiration or to make a special project out of them.

And this week is not the exception, I chose these 3 books and I cant decide what to make!

Have you made any of these projects??!! Would love to hear all about it or even better, see it!

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 22 - Top Tip

If you ever get tired of crocheting (really??!!) have another crochet related thing to do.....

To be honest, I dont have a top tip, but my lovely husband got me this amigurumi colouring book yesterday and i just wanted to show it off!! 🫶🏻

Isn't he the sweetest??!!
I guess here is my top tip 👉🏻 find a partner who supports your hobbies!

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 21 - Chenille or cotton

While I love them both, if i had to pick one, it probably would be cotton as I love the stitch definition you can get, BUT what about the softness and squishiness of chenille??!!!

Good thing is not just "choose one"!!!

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 18 - Hands on

Even though I do have cute props and pretty lights for photos… I always end up going back to the simplest thing: holding my projects in my hands 🤍🧶

And if I’m being completely honest, I kind of love my hands as part of the prop too ✨
They’ve stitched every detail, held every yarn skein, fixed every mistake, and brought every little creation to life 🫶🏻

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 16 & 17 - WIP

This is my WIP from last week… and honestly, I think my beanie trauma has officially healed 😂

After years of making hats that were somehow too small, too floppy, too everything, this one finally felt right from start to finish. I genuinely loved every stitch of it and I’m sooo happy with how it turned out 🤍

This one is a teen/adult size, so it’s naturally a little oversized on my very patient model 🥹 (who has already requested a snugger version for next time).

Maybe this is the beginning of my beanie era after all 👀🧢

Amigurumay 2026 | Day 14 - Mini or mega 🧶✨

From tiny doll outfits that fit in the palm of my hand to giant flamingos that take over the whole table… every project brings its own kind of joy 💖

But if you ask me, I’m definitely a medium-to-big project kinda girl 🙈
There’s just something so satisfying about watching a bigger make slowly come to life, stitch by stitch ✨
