Sharing the experience in a home kitchen with food choices based around the mineral content, necessary for the body to maintain healing processes. My decision to prepare the food we eat this year is for the reason of self healing and I will be keeping a record of why I am eating these foods and what value they provide. I will include recipes and report on the information I discover about the miner
al content of the ingredients. This is a study of my own which began when I went to London to visit my daughter and traveled back in time to hear Hippocrates while reading Foods That Heal by Bernard Jensen from my childhood friend Debbie's impressive Book Case, where I was privileged to be staying. This led me to remember the true value of our minerals and to make these changes to the food I serve at my table. Our bodies are made up of three classes of material, water, organic matter, and chemical salts (minerals) any self healing begins with water and minerals so the communication between our cells stays normal and our bodies maintain a healing pH balance. When Rocine spoke about chemical salts he referred not to the commercial inorganic variety but rather to the organised variety we get from our whole foods, our bodies are organised in the same way and we need to eat the food as found in nature to supply us with these chemicals in their organic form. As a Bowen practitioner I see the switching mechanism to self heal works in some cases and not in others and have come to question how and if we are getting the vital minerals we need from our food. Without which we become acidic and our cellular communication breaks down. With the processing of our food, grains are being taken out of our diet as more and more health problems are developing but in Hippocrates Kitchen I will be including some of these again as organic and unprocessed wholegrains and seeds are now becoming more available in our good modern food shops. So remembering the past secrets and magic therapeutic values of organic salts (minerals) from natures food is my purpose and commitment on this journey to discover a menu that incorporates an art of self medication enabling our bodies to heal and stay as well as possible as we age. A true Hippocrates Kitchen with a pinch or 2 of the old wisdom will emerge.
