Meet our Auckland Yellowfox Designer, Rachel Smith!
“Every client is a new journey - discovering who they are, how they live, what they want the design to bring them, and how their home is situated on the site. This discovery is at the centre of every decision. No one design is the same.
If the bones aren’t right, or it does not suit the client’s needs, then no amount of decoration will fix it.
Rachel has worked in Rome, London, Melbourne, and now Auckland. Her background in interior architecture, project management, and art history brings a rich visual language to draw on for each unique design.
Design is ever evolving, and the guiding hand of the designer is at the heart of the project. Rachel takes every opportunity to discover new architecture and design within New Zealand and Australia, when possible.
For Rachel, it’s this process of discovery that makes every project so personal and no two homes are ever the same.
Rachel recently had the joy of visiting Carol, a client building a new home in Beachlands. They worked together for eight months, looking at every detail of the home. Being on site, walking through the space, seeing the proportions and the flow, how the family will interact with one another and how light comes into the space, was a highlight.”
