Once upon a light...
Before going further, here are a few words about me, Jane-Estelle, French Artisan with a passion for "la Lumiere"
From a very young age, I have been fascinated by light. Have you ever noticed the beauty of light passing through stained glass? There is something mystical about how it can alter our perception of reality. As a young girl, I loved going to church to witness a kaleidoscope of colored lights filling the room with energy and life.
Growing up in Paris, the City of Lights, I knew my future was bright. Daughter of an architect and granddaughter of a painter, I was somehow destined to love shapes, textures, and colours of all sorts.
I studied Art History which helped build my creative thinking and design skills. With a growing desire to work with light, I decided to be trained by some well-known artisans specialized in shade making. Therefore, I was able to handmake any bespoke light shade.
Living my passion to the fullest, I opened my first business in 2011; which gave me the freedom to create unique designs to fit either traditional or contemporary styles. I also offered restoration services for lamp bases.
In 2017, I was offered an opportunity to move to New Zealand and work for a lighting company as Shade Department Manager. There, I worked with architects, interior designers, retailers, and local artisans on numerous bespoke projects for both the residential and commercial markets.
I am now running my own studio called Lumiere Creative in Auckland, from where my team and I design, create and restore every single lighting product with the highest standard of workmanship.
