We've spent years watching interiors get safer and safer.

More greige. More matching sets. Everything designed to not cause a fuss.

DAC exists for the people who are done with that.

Our pieces carry 8 to 12 layers of block printing from a Jaipur studio. Paisleys over florals over geometrics. Damson. Moss. Iris Blue. Colours that earned their depth over weeks of craft.

We're sharing something for exactly these people.

Watch what it takes to make one DAC piece.

From a Jaipur block printing studio to your home - 8 to 12 layers of printing, each washed by hand and dried in the Indian sun. Rescued fabric that was never meant to be seen.

No two pieces are ever the same.

It takes a full month of printing to create one length of this fabric.

Layer after layer in a Jaipur studio. The block hitting the cloth. The ink seeping through. The fabric washed by hand, dried in the Indian sun, then printed again. Between 8 and 12 layers of pattern and colour that were never designed to be seen together.

What results is the underprint - rescued, stitched by artisans whose names we know, finished into something that will never be replicated.

This exact piece will never exist again. When it's gone, that story ends.

It takes a full month of printing to create one length of our fabric.

Between 8 and 12 layers of block printing. Each one washed by hand and dried in the Indian sun before the next begins. Paisleys over geometrics over florals - colours that were never designed to be seen together.

The fabric that results is what we call the underprint. The cloth laid beneath the real work, absorbing everything.

That's why no two DAC pieces are ever the same. That's why when a piece is gone, that exact story ends.

This is Mohini.
She works in the stitching village in Jaipur - the same hands that finish every DAC piece. By day she stitches. By night she studies psychology, quietly building a future her mother never had. She works with Suman, Meena, and Yashoda - who also have a story to tell.
These aren't stories we found in a brochure. We sat with these women. We heard their plans. We watched them work. We know their names.
That's the connection that travels home with every piece.
Browse the collection — and know whose hands made it:

We want to introduce you to Khushiram.

He runs the block printing studio in Jaipur where every Design Alchemy Collective piece begins. He operates a water recycling plant - rare in an industry that has depleted local water supplies for decades. He pays fair wages. He knows every member of his team.

We didn't learn this from paperwork. We learned it by being there. We know it because we've sat at his table, eaten with him, and watched him work.

That's the person behind every pattern you bring home.

This fabric was never meant to exist.
It was laid on the print table of a block printing studio in Jaipur - there to catch excess ink from the real work happening above it. Absorbing ghosts of paisleys, florals, geometrics. Layer after layer. Print after print.
Traditionally, it gets thrown away.
We were standing in that studio three years ago when we saw it. To two trained designers, it was the most beautiful thing in the room.
That moment is why Design Alchemy Collective exists.
Every cushion, quilt, tea towel and kaftan we make starts with that rescued fabric. No two pieces are ever the same. No two ever will be.
