Artisan Alley Craft Studio NZ The studio is a living work space where we can be seen making what we sell, and teach what we do.

Artisan Alley Craft was home-based for many years, but as any craftaholic knows, it's a difficult love to contain. Since my grandmother gifted me with knitting, crochet, embroidery and sewing from the age of four, they have been my constant companions. I have added a number of other craft loves since and can't imagine what life would be like without a creation on the go.

I have a very large house. Since my ex doesn't live here anymore I've turned the entire place into a studio. I have works in progress all over the place so I have something to do wherever the mood takes me. The mood doesn't often take me to do the dishes, or mow the lawn. I'm a disgrace really, but I'm very creative. My garden is a patch of suburban reforestation ... my home is an artistic mess. Well, you just can't have everything!

Still not operational yet. My mind dropped some stitches and now the whole damn thing has come unraveled. Its a mess folks!!! There are so many knots and tangles that I might have to throw it out and get a new one.

Ok ... some tough times. Covid had me hanging in by my fingernails, then the shop was flooded ~ twice. Had to find new premises but nothing suitable and affordable presented itself. Took all home to semi-renovated house and decided to set up there to reboot. Husband left. Deep breath. Temporarily located in Half Moon Bay. Still trying to salvage damaged “everything ” ... counting down to beginning again. It's taking longer than anticipated. Life happens while you are making other plans. Sigh ..........

Following the contents of the Studio to its new location. It has been a long slow process sorting through all the water damaged stuff. These guys were legends! They dealt with all the small and large things with humour & care and got the job done. Now it's just a matter of setting up again. Phew
