After immigrating from South Africa to Auckland, New Zealand with her young family, business owner and creative artist Lorraine Meisener, formed Creative Stuff with the dream to create beautiful, hand-made and unique home wares and gifts. From humble beginnings working out of her garage, the business quickly expanded to operate out of a custom-designed studio from Lorraine's home in Torbay. Sevent
een years later Creative Stuff supplies a diverse range of hand-made home wares and gifts to leading retailers throughout the country and teaches regular decoupage classes throughout the week. Creative Stuff specialises in decoupaged wooden items for the home such as; tissue boxes, door stops, placemats, coasters and trinket boxes, to name a few. More recently, stunning decoupaged hearts, jotter pads, chalk boards and up-cycled cans have been added to Creative Stuff's offerings. Lorraine's experience, imagination and creative skill means she can custom-make just about anything to suit the customer's particular demands. The superb quality, craftmanship and originality of Creative Stuff's goods separates it from any other imported goods available at other retail outlets. Hundreds of students have passed through the door's of Lorraine's studio through the years, each gaining not only new skills in the art of decoupage, but the kind of camaraderie that comes from weekly gatherings of women who share the same passion for crafts. Lorraine thrives on the opportunity to share her passion and skill for decoupage, while her students enjoy the departure from everyday routine and feelings of accomplishment when they complete their creative projects. Many of Lorraine's students have been attending regular classes for as many as fifteen years, developing their skills with each creative project. Lorraine says, "I’ve seen many ladies who don’t believe they can make anything at all, make the most beautiful projects and amaze themselves. I see them light up and get inspired. We come together, catch-up, have refreshments andmake somethingcreative. We provide everything you need to get started- wooden items, napkins, papers and all of the equipment to create something you love."
