The bathroom dimension that often decides whether the whole layout works — and the first thing we check on a tight bathroom plan:
From the centre of the toilet to the nearest side wall, you need 400mm minimum — 450mm is noticeably more comfortable. That means a centred toilet wants 900mm of wall width all to itself.
In front of the toilet: 600mm minimum clear space, 700mm preferred. Between toilet and basin (or bath): 400mm minimum.
If the room is too tight to meet these, look at a back-to-wall (space-saver) toilet — they sit 550–600mm deep from the wall instead of the usual 680–720mm. That reclaimed 100mm can be the difference between 'it fits' and 'it doesn't.'
