Started cutting back the main Dahlia bed this morning...
With all 16 chicken's running around, but Dipsy, always sticks close by!

Also, look at the tiny cosmos. Doing just as much growing as necessary so they can flower and seed before winter. In the midst of the growing season, these reach well over a meter. These self seeded ones would be lucky to be 3-4 inches tall 😂, but they're working hard to seed for next season. I don't plant many cosmos anymore, as they are prolific here at self seeding.

Evening walk with the old lady, and Tasmyn and the dog 😂
Gynx is a twelve and a half year old American Staffordshire Terrier; arthritic, half deaf, cloudy eyes, but still love's walks. We just can't do very big long walks anymore.
Nothing like a roll in the long grass to cool down and put a smile on the face ☺️

I hope everyone had a good mother's day
I spent the morning in the sunshine getting beds ready (which are surprisingly well drained and not too wet) for planting my bulbs and hardy annuals next week.
A little late, but I'd seen the rain forecast a couple of weeks ago, and definitely decided to wait!
Then spent the last hour sorting through the tulip bulbs.
Nearly 400 to be planted in the beds, and the little ones can be spread through the house gardens to naturalise, over the next couple of years!
Next up, sorting and planting the other Spring bulbs, that need rescuing from an over weedy old bed!

I definitely needed the sunshine, I NEED sunshine to operate, I'm sure I'm solar powered without a battery for storage... But could be the AuDHD 😂

I've just delivered my last bouquet of the season.
Time for me to start cutting back plants, prepping beds, and planting for next Spring.

A very full jar of gorgeous colourful zinnias! Brightens this dreary day, while I await a special photography client to begin labour! ☺️
