A cloud of cherry blossom šø
I took this photo last spring. I drove past a magnificent flowering cherry tree, grabbed my camera and stood under its branches looking up into pink fluffy clouds! I kind of forgot Iād taken it, but I kind of love it š„°
There is a tradition in Japan - āHanamiā, that celebrates the fleeting beauty of cherry blossoms. It is commonly known as āflower viewingā and is simply the ancient practice of gazing upon the flowers. In times gone by farmers would pray, make offerings and prepare a feast under the trees, in the hope this would result in an abundant harvest.
