Sunday is brocante day in France! 🇫🇷 First up we headed off to Pressec where they had their yearly event. Lots of treasures to be had with lots of trips back to the van! We had lunch at trestle tables under a lovely old tree before heading home to unload. We then visited La Brocante de la Molle and then back to La Grange du Rivaux to pick up more purchases! Lots of packing and list making before Tracy leaves tomorrow!

Saturday sees Chauvigny’s big open air market - voted the best in the area. We spent the morning there before returning home for lunch, sampling the local delicacies we had bought. In the afternoon we headed to Le Blanc and visited the brocante stores open there before heading back to Chatellerault and , then to pick up the treasures purchased yesterday. Merci Michel for waterblasting the urns ready for MPI checking in NZ! It was late by the time we returned to Chauvigny. Merci for being open and our delicious galette and crepe!

A big day on Friday starting with the fabulous brocante at Chatellerault called before heading to La Roche Posay for a great salad lunch at and cosy salon de thé. We then went to the amazing - hence saying many treasures were purchased! On the way home we called into Cadeaux Antiquities and one of France’s prettiest villages, Angles-sur-l’Anglin. More antique shopping and refreshments there before dinner at - their galettes and crepes are amazing! Home to bed after 10.00pm!

A quick change of plan after landing at Limoges Aeroport and ubered to Le Clerc to collect my booked hire car, only to be asked for my international driving licence and refused hireage when I said I didn’t have one. Quick uber then to the train station and caught the last train to Poitiers. Thanks Theo for picking me up in Montmorillon!

We spent the morning at RHS Harlow Carr this morning. This is a huge garden with garden centre, cafes and a gift shop. It’s a havit now to get a takeaway coffee with delectable pastry or croissant to have as you enjoy the expansive garden.

Off to the shops at West Park in Harrogate this morning! First up coffee at Weetons - love the displays in this store, how they have fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, freshly made meals, a fabulous meat section, flowers and packaged food - all set around a buzzing café. Have been enjoying the English sausage sandwich for brunch! Next I went a few shops along to another of my Harrogate favourites- 27 West Park Antiques & Home Interiors. This is a huge store with lots of antiques and homewares traders. They all have their own cabinet or larger booth display, all run by a central team. So many great displays, so many treasures! I did find a few bone handled butter knives, unusual teaspoons and a herringbone coat!
