Spring is when Christchurch outdoor projects move from someday to scoped.

Landscape construction covers the work that turns a bare or tired section into a finished outdoor environment: groundwork and levels, paving, paths, retaining, structures, planting, and the edging details that pull it all together. We scope the whole job before anything starts, so you get a documented plan, a firm price, and a build that runs in the right order.

What you end up with is a section that works. Drainage sorted underneath. Surfaces built to last. Planting that takes hold, because handover comes with establishment guidance and a care pathway if you want one.

This suits new-build exteriors, renovations, rural properties and high-value homes across Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri. If your project is bigger than a tidy-up, it deserves a proper scope.

We are Horizon Landscape Construction & Care. Tell us what you are planning and we will give you an honest read on what it will take. Call 027 955 7203.

A new lawn in spring is one of the fastest ways to finish a Christchurch property, and the season is open now.

Ready lawn gives you full green cover in a day rather than a season of nursing seed. The part that decides whether it lasts happens first: we strip what is there, correct the levels, deal with compaction and drainage, and prepare the soil before a single roll goes down. Then we lay it, water it in, and hand over exact timings for watering and the first mow.

Ready lawn suits new builds that need a handover-ready finish, renovations where turf is sequenced alongside paving and planting, and tired lawns past the point where patching pays.

One thing you can count on: when repair is the better option, we say so, and when it is line-ball we quote it both ways so you can choose.

We install across Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri, year-round. Horizon Landscape Construction & Care will price your actual lawn from your address. Call 027 955 7203.

What does a lawn care plan include, and how does the pricing work?

Each plan starts with the soil. We match treatments to what your lawn needs through the Canterbury seasons: root health, nutrition, w**d and pest control, and moisture help for the dry months. After visits we send photo updates, so you see what we did and why.

From there, you pick the level. Essential covers the treatment programme for people who enjoy their own mowing. Elite adds striped mowing and crisp edges on a schedule. Elite Plus runs the full works, with aeration, dethatching, overseeding and an annual soil test.

Spring renovation slots fill fast once growth starts, so this is the week to get on the list.

On pricing: we price your actual property, not a rate card, and you get the number before anything begins. Horizon Landscape Construction & Care covers lawn care across Christchurch, Rolleston to Rangiora. Send your address for a price, no pressure and no obligation.

A commercial frontage tells people how a business runs before anyone reaches the door. On one Christchurch site, we hold the grounds to exactly that test — scheduled visits through the year, lawns, beds and edges kept presentable, and regular reporting so the site manager can see the condition without walking the property.

The result: a frontage that looks cared for in July as well as January, presentation that holds between visits, and one less item on the facilities list. It’s a visible standard the whole site gets held to, week after week, right through the seasons.

That’s the job commercial grounds maintenance in Christchurch should do. Horizon Landscape Construction & Care runs this kind of programme for commercial sites and body corporates across the region — and if the standard on your site has drifted, we’ll walk it with you and scope commercial grounds maintenance in Christchurch, Selwyn or Waimakariri properly.

A garden doesn't stop growing because someone is unwell. That's the problem.

When a household is deep in cancer treatment, the lawn, the hedges and the w**ds keep going regardless, and the whole lot turns into one more source of pressure at the worst possible time.

Hope to Homes takes that off the list. Free garden care for Kiwi homeowners dealing with cancer, run alongside the Cancer Society.

We're at 50 homes now — Christchurch, Selwyn, Waimakariri, and everywhere in between.

No cost, and nothing expected in return. We fund it ourselves out of the paid work we do (we do not ask for donations).

Know a family who could do with a hand? Send them our way — there's a form on our website, or they can call us on 0279557203. A message from a friend or family member is just as welcome as one from the person going through it.

On too many builds, the landscaping gets squeezed to the end — scoped late, rushed, and left to fend for itself after handover. We work the other way around. Our landscape construction in Christchurch starts with groundwork, levels and drainage, then paving, retaining, structures and planting — sequenced like any other trade and finished to a standard we’re happy to put our name on.

The benefit is simple: an outdoor space that reads as part of the build, settles properly, drains properly and still looks right years from now.

It suits new builds, renovations and high-value homes anywhere from Rolleston to Rangiora — and builders who need the exterior delivered to programme. Our standard for every project gets a clear, documented scope before work begins.

Design. Build. Maintain.

Usually that's three different contractors. Here it's one standard — outdoor environments designed to actually be built, built to last, and maintained by the same team that put them in the ground.

Checking the fall on every paver before the next one goes down.

Large-format paving with channel drainage set flush at the edge — the details that decide whether this still sits true in ten years, not just on handover day.

Built with precision. Finished with pride. Cared for long term.
