An invert pleat is a box pleat that has a wave effect on the front of the curtain and has a box pleat on the back.

Inside Information 🧐

The colour of a lining can dramatically enhance the look of a fabric if it is a slightly open weave or sheer fabric. This fabric has the flint coloured dim out lining on the back and you can see when an ivory lining is added how it changes the fabric.

The single pleat. ✨

When a single pleat is sitting on a rod or a recessed track it hangs below the rod and the gap between the pleats can sit backwards showing off the pleat itself. But when it is installed onto a track the gap between the pleats is pushed forward and the pleat loses its look.

My opinion is that I will only recommend putting a single pleat on a rod or a recessed track

S wave pleats are a popular modern look. They can take a higher percentage fullness and need to sit out from the window because the pleat folds to the front and the back of the track not just the front like other pleats. It can only sit below a track so the rod or track will be visible or recessed into the ceiling.
The wave is created by the glides in the track being tethered.
