Although we were closed on Good Friday, I was here at Shelf with the door locked, pottering away.
Around 5pm I received a message from my brother Mark, who lives in Australia, saying that my delayed birthday present had arrived…a bit odd for Good Friday I thought 🤔
A minute later a family FaceTime popped up. Mum asked where Mark and Bianca were… and that’s when I recognised the stone wall of our house behind them!
They had pulled off the best surprise. Sam was in on it, but I had absolutely no idea! They had popped over for Easter and did lots of sightseeing with Bianca very keen to get to Shelf of course 😝
I always get the warm and fuzzies when my Aussie family or longtime friends walk through the door at Shelf, and hearing my (not overly chatty!) brother say “this is really cool” was pretty special.
So Mark and Bianca, thank you for such a great birthday surprise… and I’ll stop banging on about you not visiting us now 😂
