PELLET FIRE TIP: Keep your burn pot liner holes clear!
Winter has arrived early, and to ensure youâre getting the best use out of your pellet fire this year, we ask for you to keep your burn pot liners clear.
Your pellet fire relies on air flow to produce a flame and this comes from the holes in your burn pot liner (applies to all pellet fires.) This needs to be kept clear as much as possible.
We recommend emptying your burn pot liner before each use of your pellet fire. However, if the fuel quality is poor, you will need to do this every 12 hours (or more frequently) to ensure the burn pot is kept clear.
As youâre emptying your burn pot liner, you may notice clink that is a harder substance than usual. There is no need to worry, you may find you have to use a nail, screwdriver or something that will fit through the holes to clear them out. If possible, rub the edges of each hole to make it as wide as possible.
If you find your burn pot liner overfilling with unburnt pellets, please turn it off immediately, let it cool down and then empty and clean the burn pot liner.
If you have any concerns about your fireâs operation and have not had it serviced in the last 12 months and you live in Dunedin, please give us a call to service your fire.
We are also getting reports of some concerns regarding fuel quality at present. It is important to note that pellet fuel is not a product that has the same quality across all batches and often varies by production batch.
We ask that you call the number on the back of your pellet bags to let the manufacturers know of the issue as the feedback is imperative for improvements. ïżŒ
