At Billy's, every detail has been carefully considered - even the ones designed to disappear.

The venue is split into two distinct spaces:
The restored 1890s Homestead and the Conservatory.

SA Studio led the architecture and restoration and Alexander & Co did the interiors.
The project received recognition at the Best Awards, with the judges noting it as a masterclass in detailing and assembly.

The challenge for Strawberry Queenstown, was to make our work invisible so it doesn't disrupt the experience.

Key Features:
- 18 zones audio
- 8 Dante I/O locations
- 7 HVAC zones
- Control of all interior and exterior lighting
- Automated scheduling of audio and lighting scenes throughout the day
- Manual override via 7" touchscreens

Welcoming Richard to Strawberry Christchurch 🍓

Richard joins Strawberry Christchurch as Operations Manager, bringing extensive experience across the audio-visual industry and a deep understanding of AV systems and delivery at scale.

With a background at NSL, Richard worked across complex AV environments, including involvement in the University of Canterbury’s post-earthquake AV refresh programme.
His experience across: Product ✔️ partnerships ✔️ and large-scale delivery ✔️ makes him a strong addition to the Christchurch team.

Two projects we wired up have just won their categories at the National Master Builders Awards.

🏆 Velvin Building took Supreme House of the Year (over 1 Million).
🏆 HoweConstructionLtd took Supreme Renovation of the Year (over 2 Million).

The calibre of construction happening in Queenstown is pretty exceptional, and we're lucky to be working alongside teams operating at this level.

Skyline’s mega redevelopment is bringing new dining and event spaces, all perched high above Queenstown’s must-see views.

Since 2019, we’ve been working alongside Skyline — starting with their first terminal — and this latest project is another big step in the journey.

Our role is to shape the atmosphere with lighting control and background music systems designed to flow seamlessly from the ground to the very top.

Look to the peak and watch the progress unfold.

We’ve been part of Queenstown since 1967, and now it’s time for the next chapter. Project Skyline is about creating a world-class experience at the top of Bob’s Peak, with stunning new spaces for dining, events, and those must-see views.

While construction is underway, everything you love about Skyline is still open. We’ll guide you around any changes, and the adventure continues.

JPRO have published a case study on the front-of-house setup for Jesus Christ Superstar.

Held at the majestic Regent Theatre, this venue demanded more than just hanging a big array and calling it a day.

RealNZ came to Strawberry Queenstown frustrated with the sound quality of Teams calls in their conference room.

We upgraded their setup by installing a Shure ceiling array mic to capture conversation around the table and Shure Pendant Speakers that allow clear audio that everyone can hear.

We integrated their existing Crestron video conferencing system with a Shure USB audio network interface and added a Huddly camera for high-def wide angle video.

The result is an intuitive system that takes the anxiety out of “will this work?” moments before a meeting, delivering crisp, clear audio both in-room and on the far end of a Microsoft Teams call.

Dynalite have published a case study on our recent award-winning project at the University of Otago.

'The Pathway and English Language Centre' was already a key facility at the university. Strawberry delivered a system that could integrate into the broader campus network and support future growth.

This project pushed us to find smart solutions to some complex challenges, and the result was a control system that’s not only powerful and flexible but intuitive for end users.

Velvin Building – Supreme House of the Year (Over $1 million)
Designed by architects Kerr & Ritchie as their own residence, this 450sqm multi-level home is perched just above the water’s edge on a steep, triangular site. A warm, energy-efficient build equipped with advanced automation integrated into the architecture.

Howe Construction – Renovation Over $2 million + Gold Award
This complete redesign transformed a 380sqm penthouse into a spacious, high-spec home featuring five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, internal saunas, and generous living areas. Strawberry designed and installed a smart system, with features that allow automated heating and keyless entry, enhancing comfort and ease of use throughout the home.
