Hughie Hughes electrical has been operating on the coast since 1955. Based in Ruatoria, we replaced his floor with carpet tiles and found this Gem underneath, asbestos tiles, laid in 1955 and still solid as. Hughie at almost 90, is still climbing ladders getting into ceilings, and getting under houses to wire them up. Legend. Great job, real life story. They breed them hard on the coast..

One of the most common misconceptions about Flooring Xtra is that because we are nationwide we are a corporate. When in fact we are a Co-operative with each store being individually and locally owned and operated.

We are family owned and operated stores employing local people. When you come into our stores, or onto our jobs its "Mum and Dad" that come out out greet you, its "The kids or the nephew" that are running around the shop, sweeping up, out doing the flooring basics on the job, learning the trade.. Just like Dad did with Grand dad when he was there age.. Support Locals..

We can’t open our doors, however we can come and do in-home & onsite measuring following Covid-19 guidelines.
