Cook School We are uniquely different.

Our antique store is set in a large barn on a working farm in Gordonton, just north of Hamilton. We stock all sorts of antiques, including furniture, silver, porcelain and designer objects of desire. We have a vast selection of designer fabrics, including Designers Guild and Bakers, and offer a full interior design service. On top of all this, we offer regular Cooking Demonstrations and events, fe

aturing international cuisine styles, taking place in our cottage, which is brimming with antiques and art for you to enjoy. We also offer the ability for groups to visit, with either morning or afternoon tea, to view the barn, have a tour of the cottage and wander around the large garden, visiting our menagerie of very friendly goats, pigs, chickens and unusual Indian Running Ducks,
We also offer small group tours to France, and France, Spain and Portugal. Travelling with no more than 7 other people visiting great tourist sites, and places off the beaten tourist track.

Then we moved outside. Fontainebleau is just so pretty and it was so peaceful after the pace of Paris. Stunning. Then a delicious lunch at a very nice restaurant. My salad consisted of Fois Gras, Smoked Duck, Beans and Roasted Hazelnuts. YUMMM!! šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

We have had the most WONDERFUL day! We travelled by train out to Fontainebleau to the Chateau de Fontainebleau. It is spectacular and blows Versailles out of the water as far as Iā€™m concerned. So all the ā€œtouristsā€ go trailing out to Versailles, which is fine, however hardly anyone goes here, which is insane. But the upside of that is itā€™s quiet. No crowds. Anyway the furnishings are unsurpassed. So so beautiful. I just love it. šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

And our final stop, Musee dā€™Orsay. This is my FAVOURITE art museum in the world, and Iā€™ve seen a few. If you are coming to Paris, and you donā€™t have a lot of time, flag the Louvre and go here. So many beautiful and of course famous paintings. Love it! šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

Our second stop of the day was the beautiful Hotel de la Marine. I love this place, itā€™s so beautiful and very few people. A great lunch was had there also in their stunning restaurant. I had the BEST Salade Nicoise, with artichokes and quails eggsā€¦ā€¦YUMMMM!

We continued our day wandering around Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur. As well as the very touristic part, I always wander the group through the very quiet treed back streets of Montmartre, not frequented by all the tourists. It is so pretty. Itā€™s been a full, great day!

Today we had a DELICIOUS lunch at Cafe de la Paix. Such a famous restaurant. A regular lunch treat when we are in Paris....
