Grandmother's Garden Patchwork & Quilting

Grandmother's Garden Patchwork & Quilting Home of Patchwork & Quilting Grandmother's Garden opened in 1984. There is plenty of on-site parking for the many visitors who come from far and wide.

It was the inspiration of Hazel Wolff who had just returned from living in America where she had become 'hooked' on patchwork and quilting. It has grown from a small beginning to become New Zealand's leading Patchwork and Quilting Store

The store is located at Gordonton in the heart of rural Waikato, and is open Monday to Saturday. In the midst of an acre of landscaped gardens, the shop itself ne

stles in the ground floor of an elegant three-storeyed home. At last count there were well over 5000 bolts of cotton fabrics to choose from, but the range changes as new fabrics arrive almost daily. Grandmother's Garden is well known for a wonderful range of quilt kits, many of which are exclusive as they are designed by the talented staff and tutors. Weekly email letters keep everyone in touch with the latest fabrics and trends, and orders are despatched throughout New Zealand by courier. Overseas customers can gain easy access to our fabrics and kits by email. Whether you come and visit or can only shop with Grandmother's Garden by mail you will see the latest fabrics and the newest designs.

Here is a fantastic quilt kit that I am taking orders for. It will not arrive in the country until June but my order has to be placed to the manufacturers by the middle of December.

It is 80” X 100”

This of course is going to take you some time to make but it is a family heirloom and you may think of creating it for a wedding present. It is the replica of a quit made by Jane Austen and her sisters and I have seen the original quilt behind glass on a visit to Britain. We offered this projects many years ago and I guess Riley Blake fabrics have decided to print again.

I will require a deposit when you order. I have cut the price down as much as possible but I cannot afford to have customers renege on their order come June next year and I end up with half a dozen kits. I have decided $50.00 is a fair amount for a deposit and this of course will come off the price of your kit.

Order right now if you would like this heirloom. by emailing [email protected]
The cost: $375.00 plus postage.
Our orders have to be placed by 18th December 2024 - so don't delay!

Grandmother’s Garden has closed but the inspiration and passion live on!

I am planning on joining together with other artists and crafts people from our Retirement Village to attend some markets so I will continue to create kits for small items, like pillows and table runners. My theme will be Christmas and I am having a lot of fun creating sets of placemats already.
