Hey guys, been reasonably busy here, working for Seams'n'stitches, upholstery all done, and all reassembled ready for the customer to pick up, and now onto something for a really good client of mine, flatwork is not my favorite, but a 21st is important,3 pieces of rimu,(old door frames and window frames), once it's all shaped up..off to get Lazer engraved and then my turn on the Dremel, and then finishing...alot of work but worth it,. cheers all.. Hey guys, bit of an impromptu, turning session, my mate from dunners decided he needed a,"fish dispatcher", after he had used mine,a beautiful piece of 'jarra',I think,an hour on the lathe, some sandpaper,1 coat of linseed oil, to seal it off, custom made to his hand,, and here is the end result... came out really nice... cheers all have a great week... Hey guys, just cleaned up a nice piece of macrocarpa for one of the boys at work,alot of work goes into doing this, from a piece of chainsaw cut timber,lots of measurements, making a sled for putting it through the thicknesser, and finally putting it over the planer/jointer to get the edges squared up, and finally done,,then onto the next wee project, making a custom 21st key for a really good client, and then onto some very delicate lathe work for another client, and then helping the other half with her upholstery work... never stops here... cheers all have a great week... Hey guys,I know that it's been a long time since I posted last,been insane busy with work and life,a wee project under way for Seams'n'stitches,,a pedestal so that her clients can be elevated above floor level when she is doing, wedding dresses,hems and all the stuff i don't understand, hopefully In the next week or 3 I can get back into some turning,,, there are huge changes in the pipeline... cheers all have a great weekend... Hey guys,,on behalf of my wife... Seams'n'stitches',,, and me,, when are people going to come to the realization that ""cheap ""and done to perfection, don't belong in the same sentence?,we have been absolutely inundated with very low quality,lousy alterations to wedding and bridesmaids dresses over the last couple of days,, some one is going to miss out.. sorry... my wife is a perfectionist and only has 1 pair of hands... so guys...do it right the first time... it's cheaper in the long run

Hey guys and girls,, I know that it's been a while since I posted,, but this time of year.. been insane busy,, last couple of days I have been working for my wife, Seams'n'stitches' and here is what I have been doing,, strangely enough... upholstery,, but I did have reason to get on the lathe,,we are currently working on an 'otterman', that has been seriously been beaten up over the years,, our brief from our customer was simple... make it pretty,, and here we are... stripping off the old upholstery,, tearing everything apart,, and start rebuilding, all the legs off, on the lathe,, turned down to get all the 'battle scars'out,, sanded down,dyed, and now ready for a sealer/top coat,,,I know what colour the upholstery is going to be, so this is going to be stunning,, cheers all have a great weekend... Hey guys and girls, here is what the wife came up with.... about 6 hours ago... can you replace the seats on the see saw.? for the grand kids,,,my response... yes I can...2 pieces of beautiful 'oak',8 new bolts,,2 layers of foam..1 ultra heavy duty and a 'cushion' style foam,,,then put it all back together... and I have to be awake at 3 am in the morning to go to work....no pressure... cheers all have a great week... Hey guys... super busy day, waterblasting, wash my truck,2 trips to the pharmacy for my wife,clean my garage (major),top up the pool, change the filters, down the road again to get change for the Gore Hokonui Community Market tomorrow,,I may even get some time to load my truck and have some dinner (which I haven't even thought about yet).. unfortunately time does not stop... hopefully see you guys tomorrow, 10am till 2pm, cnr of Ardwick and Devon Street Gore.. cheers all from a Very tired Iain,ohh and I may even have swung by the wholesalers on the way past...no.. really.😁👍

Hey guys and girls,, just got home from work today...7 days at sea, to be honest, this shift was really hard work,30 to 40 knot winds, horizontal rain and cold,,, but here is the upside,,a beautiful trip home..dead flat sea and 24 degrees,,, and this coming Saturday.. the Gore Hokonui Community Market ,cnr of Ardwick and Devon Street Gore, from 10am till 2pm, I will be there along with my wife Leanne.. Seams'n'stitches' with some of her products,at discounted prices (just to make room on her shelves), hope to see you there... cheers Iain
