Milestone moment 👨🏾‍🎓 🎓

Completed my whakairo (carving) studies with Te Wananga o Aotearoa and graduating this Thursday.

Snippets of my final submission piece inspired by my Nan.

Whakairo (traditional carving) is now part of my practice and being shared into my pakihi (my business).

Ngā mihi to those who guided me and for those who were on the journey.

🔑 Not your average 21st key…

This custom 21st key was designed by .purcell for his oldest nephew .mellars —carving a visual kōrero that intertwines three whakapapa lines: Māori, Samoan, and Dutch (with a cheeky nod to Scandinavian roots).

Made from layered wood and acrylic, it was brought to life on our laser machine—precision-cut and full of all the good feels.

And yes, if you’re wondering… that is “21” in Runic 😎

We don’t do basic.
