Fifty years ago, Footrot Flats first appeared, introducing some of the most loved and recognisable characters in Kiwi culture - thanks to creator Murray Ball.

Now, to mark this milestone, the Ball family and Water Safety New Zealand have come together to celebrate Murray Ball’s legendary legacy while helping create a life-saving one.

Introducing Legends Live On.

For generations, Wal and Dog have been part of the story of life in New Zealand - including their many days spent in, on and around the water.

Now, this limited edition print, of which only 50 will ever be produced, is available for purchase with all funds raised supporting water safety education and drowning prevention across Aotearoa. You can also bid on the original!

Day 3 at Gisborne Children’s Ward 🌊

Today we moved further around the Gisborne coastline, bringing another completely different part of the story to life.

The spaces are now filling with whales, penguins, manta rays and coastal landscapes, before flowing through into the beach areas with dotterels and oystercatchers along the shoreline.

It’s been amazing watching each new section connect with the next and seeing the ward gradually transform into one continuous journey through the landscapes and wildlife of the region.

And there’s still so much more to come. 💙
