He sold all he had, bought a sail boat and left the UK many years ago, eventually settling in New Zealand. He now runs a global design studio specializing in lighting designs inspired by nature. The company has won many awards for its work and commitment to being a sustainable business.

Suspended in the entry of this Taupō showhome, Kōura brings its own sense of arrival: sculptural, tactile, and full of the same craftsmanship that saw this home take out Gold and Category Winner in the GIB Show Home category at the 2026 Master Builders House of the Year Awards.
