New Product Launch: AUTO NUTES COCO ABC

Optimised for coco-based growing.

Coco isn’t soil — it behaves differently. It can hold and exchange nutrients in a way that affects calcium, magnesium and potassium availability, so coco-based grows need a nutrient system designed around that balance.

AUTO NUTES COCO ABC is our new coco-optimised 3-part dry nutrient system for NZ growers who want clean, flexible and powerful feeding — without paying for water in liquid bottles.

With Part A at NPK 6-19-42 + micronutrients, AUTO NUTES COCO ABC is a highly concentrated dry system designed to support economical feeding from veg through to heavy flower and fruiting.

Designed for coco, coco/perlite, run-to-waste and high-performance liquid feeding.

Strong calcium. Reliable magnesium. High potassium support when your plants need it most.

Now available from Herbi.

🌱 Herbi SOIL update for NZ growers
We know many of you have been waiting for Herbi SOIL – Living Soil Growing Mix to come back into stock.
We’ve sold out, but demand continues from home gardeners and commercial growers around the country.
Thanks for your patience, messages and support.
Here’s the latest update:
We’ve paused production of Herbi SOIL - Living Soil Growing Mix & Seedling Mix temporarily, but we’ll be back in action soon.
Herbi SOIL is currently produced in New Plymouth, but rising petrol prices means it’s just too expensive to continue shipping ingredients to Taranaki for production, then back to our HQ in Kihikihi, Waikato.
And, because Herbi SOIL is not a standard potting mix - it’s an award-winning biological living soil developed in NZ, with more than 40 natural ingredients - we decided to pause NZ production temporarily.
The good news: specialist gardening stores and retailers still have some Herbi SOIL in stock - find your nearest store at https://herbi.nz/where-to-get-herbi-products but don’t wait - once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Our new manufacturing equipment is due to arrive within a month, allowing us to re-start production of Herbi SOIL, and bring it home to our HQ in Kihikihi, Waikato.
And, we’ll be scaling up to meet the increasing demand for Herbi soil and plant food.
Until then, our online shop remains open with the rest of our all-natural, living soil range, and we are still producing best-sellers:

• Herbi Living Soil STARTER 4-4-4
• Herbi Living Soil BOOSTER 2-8-4
• Herbi ZYMES - Natural Plant Defence & Bio Boost.
• Herbi MYCOS+ Root Booster

We are also developing new living soil products for agriculture, horticulture and commercial growing — more on that soon.
We’ll keep you updated as Herbi SOIL production starts up again.

Happy growing 🌱

Growing is changing - what happens when we rely less on fertiliser?

For decades, growers have relied on synthetic fertilisers to feed plants and push growth. But with rising costs and global supply pressures, many are starting to ask a bigger question:

What if the future of growing isn’t more inputs… but better soil?

At Herbi.nz, we’ve been focusing on living soil systems that build soil biology — creating a self-sustaining environment where plants are fed by microbes, organic matter, and natural processes rather than constant external inputs.

What’s interesting is that we’re now seeing this approach gain traction not just in New Zealand, but also across Europe, where our soil systems are being successfully used.

This shift isn’t just about gardening — it’s about resilience.

When soil biology is functioning properly, plants become more resilient, soils retain more water, and growers become less dependent on external supply chains.

In a world where fertiliser availability and pricing can change quickly, that kind of independence is becoming more important than ever.

This isn’t a trend.

It’s a return to how soil and plants are meant to work.

🦠🌱 Do you know how easy it is to unleash the invisible workforce under your garden?
With the help of Herbi.nz - a NZ-owned and operated company based in Waikato - you can easily reduce your work in the garden by activating the army of tiny soil microbes that feed, protect and hydrate your plants, while unlocking nutrients and feeding roots. There are millions of microbes (mainly fungi and bacteria) living in just a single Tablespoon of healthy soil.
However, microbes need feeding too! Otherwise they’ll disappear.
The problem is microbes are picky eaters. They don’t eat synthetic fertilisers, these can actually harm them. Instead, they thrive on real, natural organic matter.
So if plants are being fed chemicals… then soil life slowly disappears.
No microbes = tired soil.
Thriving microbes = explosive plant growth.
At Herbi.nz we specialise in making microbe food. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons we developed Herbi’s Living Soil Starter and award-winning Herbi Soil – Living Soil Growing Mix.
Herbi’s living soil range is pure microbe food - containing more than 30 different natural ingredients, in each product, feeding a wide-variety of different microbes.
While you can’t see the microbial army at work - most can only be seen under a microscope - if they’re supported then they will work tirelessly to grow strong, healthy flowers, fruit, veggies and ornamentals of any kind. All in return for plant sugars - sweet deal, or what?!

“Soil Is Like A Gut.”
It doesn’t sound pretty, but it’s true.
A healthy gut relies on microbial diversity.
So does your soil.
And when microbial diversity is high:
Nutrient cycling stabilises
Disease pressure reduces
Stress resilience improves

When diversity collapses:
Dependency increases.
Protect the soil microbiome.
Build living soil and grow healthier plants.

💔 HERBI.NZ is deeply saddened by the passing of Elaine Ingham 💔
Elaine Ingham, the visionary soil scientist who contributed massively to unlocking the secrets of the soil food web, has passed away at 73.
She taught the world that the tiniest microbes in soil are the lifeblood of every garden, every crop, every thriving ecosystem. 🌱
Elaine’s legacy lives on in every healthy patch of soil, every flourishing plant, and every gardener who now understands that soil is alive. Let’s honour her by caring for the hidden life beneath our feet. 💚
