To ensure every frame for each piece of furniture was built the same we needed to design cutting and glueing jigs. This glueing jig meant we could glue up one pair of desk legs at a time. Once dry we could spin the locking k***s by hand and pull the frames up and out of the jig. We made multiple jigs for each piece of furniture (desk, cafe table, worktable etc) so we could glue up 5-6 pairs of frames at a time.

Wanting to leave a trace of what the timber was used for before we left one face untouched with its original stamping or notes from the builders who made the original walls in the office.

Not one piece of new 2x4 was used for the furniture. We have reused the 2x4 framing from the old walls into the framing for the new furniture. A process that requires de-nailing, cutting in half and multiple runs through the buzzer and thicknesser to get the timber straight and square.

To ensure all the parts were made exactly the same we needed to design lots of jigs. This small one in MDF was to make sure all the holes were drilled in the same place. So when all the kit set parts for the desks get to the office space for install it does not matter which pieces you put together, they all fit. That's the plan anyway, yet to install, so yet to be proven
