Just home from a fabulous day visiting Kym Bowater Design in Palmerston North ❤️
We had an absolute talk fest about all things interior design — with a delicious lunch in the middle, followed by… you guessed it, more interior design talk.
It’s always so lovely connecting with another designer who gets it. We have lots in common — we both have commercial studios, we’re both passionate about interiors, and, most importantly… we’re both redheads! 😜
Thanks for such a lovely day, Kym. I’m already looking forward to our next catch-up!

The things we do for new carpet… 😅
My clients sent me this photo this morning, and honestly, it made my day. Sometimes the before-the-after moments are just as memorable as the finished result.

Last night I got to experience a world first…

I was invited to the launch of the Rinnai Velare hybrid electric fireplace. A stunning new design that combines the ambience of an electric fire with the extra warmth of heat pump technology. Electric fireplaces are loved for their mesmerising glow and cosy feel, but they’re limited to around 2kW of heat. Rinnai has changed that by integrating a heat pump behind the fire, creating a simple, clever solution that delivers much more warmth.

And it’s made here in New Zealand. Brilliant in its simplicity and design.

August often feels like winter’s final flourish, when chilly mornings and cool evenings remind us how much our homes matter. After last month’s focus on fireplaces, I’m continuing the cosy retreat theme by looking at an effective way to add warmth underfoot: rugs. continue reading my latest newsletter here.

What a beautiful day! It’s been sooo cold. So it’s fantastic to see the sun for a day!

Decisions, decisions… choosing the perfect floor lamp for a space can be tricky. Another great way to use AI in interior design: take a photo of the living room, explore different options visually, and let AI do the heavy lifting before anything is purchased. It makes decision making so much easier for clients, and helps them feel confident about the final look.
