If you are up for a challenge then I suggest the below pattern
Alpaca Yarns Halo 8ply Yarn used and pattern 3301 Beanie and Scarf.

The challenging part is the beanie is knitted top down sighhhhhhhh but :-)
you start with 10 stitches.
I ended up borrowing Teresa's short dpns and her short sock circular until I had near on 100 Stitches put on the needles.
Once I got past the cast on bit it was plain sailing.

To make me feel better - Once I had knitted at least 10 cms I then went back to the top and made the round hole disappear.

I would love to know the solution of not getting the hole.

I did a wee search and thought I had found the answer and perhaps it may still work. The answer that i found was the disappearing loop cast on.

what are your suggestions and perhaps you may like to give yourself this challenge too by knitting this pattern

I am going to be knitting the scarf too.

I have fallen in love with this yarn, so soft and so warm. Love love love.

PS I also put my opal sock yarn into 50 grams cakes so i can start my two socks at a time knitting. toe up

I couldnt help myself lol
4 more balls of the Opal sock yarn. We have 8 collections currently on sale at the moment

I plan to make socks with the first three balls and the 4th ball which is the blue one is going to be the heels and perhaps some of the ribbing on each of the socks.

My Haul that I got from the Sale. Earth Tunes 8ply, going to make a top down vest, The two sock yarns going to make socks lol

whilst i was down there i got myself the cute wee Eco Vita Mini Weaving Loom and some thread to go with it.

Lower Hutt has one left in stock atm.
