AMCA are proud to sponsor this Queenstown Writers Festival 48 Hour Competition! Cross pollination between creative disciplines is crucial to our practice, and we love competitions that champion imagination and support emerging local talent

At 5pm Friday 10 November Queenstown Writers Festival will release three possible prompts on their website, social media and newsletter. You get to choose which you’d like to respond to, in either fiction or non-fiction form. You’ll have only 48 hours to polish your diamond though, as submissions close Sunday 5pm.

The competition has three categories (open, rangatahi & tamariki) with cash prizes for the winners! For full competition details check the Queenstown Writers Festival website

Winter in Arrowtown is dramatic, brooding and breath-taking.

We’ve brought winter indoors; the schist rock faces of the Arrowtown hills; the steady trickle of the river; the stillness of the pines.

The only thing we have kept thoroughly outside- is the temperature!

AOSTA was designed by one of Arrowtown’s most prominent artists, Anna-Marie Chin ( ).

Her attention to texture, light and space have made AOSTA a beloved winter hearth to warm hands and bellies alike.

Home of the Year 2022 | On arrival by car, this home, named Terrace Edge by Anna-Marie Chin Architects, reveals itself as a multi-structure compound; each volume seemingly independent from the others yet connected via glazed walkways.

The regional Otago architectural trademarks are immediately apparent here, but there is something else lurking behind this familiarity.
