I’m the florist behind The Petal House in Napier, Hawke’s Bay. Flowers have helped me find peace through some of my own difficult seasons, and that’s part of why I love creating them for other people.

Whether it’s a beautiful birthday arrangement, flowers to comfort someone going through a difficult time, or a generous arrangement simply because you miss them, I’ll help you choose something meaningful.

Tell me the occasion and your budget.
I’ll choose seasonal flowers and create something beautiful with care.

You don’t need to know flower names or choose every stem yourself.

I can’t believe I use to play around designing magazines, logos, wedding invitations and interior wall decals for so many years and never thought of designing with flowers.

It’s brought me an incredible amount of joy, happiness and playfulness. Not one bunch is the same as the other. You can never repeat the same pattern perfectly even if you plan to. Each flower is unique, and set apart from the others. Even if you buy the same seed packet, the outcome has all to do with the environment, the soil health, whether it has had good soil health, the weather, has it been sprayed with fertiliser, what disease has it had…

Most people don’t know the process, some of the flowers have been grown outside of NZ for you to enjoy. Some come sprayed with paint, some come from local growers and some are grown right here in my backyard.

Amazing things happen when you stop waiting & start taking action. It only took me to the age of 39 to wake up to this. My family has a history of growing plants, designing and being the outside the box thinkers.

A little free tip for you today is…find that thing that spark for you, then light up the entire world with it!

This flower journey has showed me so many woman who stopped waiting for things to happen but started taking action towards the life they wanted. From dog training to personal trainers to photographers. It’s been so inspiring listening to woman and men finally allowing themselves to live the life they finally wanted and give things a go!

It’s Friday, we have survived, well done, just one more push to finish the weekend.

Start soft this morning, grab some slippers, light a candle, sit and watch the sunrise, listen to the birds, slow down..and keep putting one foot in front the other…call that friend today you have been putting off, say hi to a stranger, light the candle, give that hug, be soft, be gentle, be kind even when you want to give up..life is worth living, it’s beautiful.

Head into nature, escape with your kids into the woods, play a board game, have a glass of w**e, read a book by the fire, play with your child or even bake a cake. Show someone you love them today. Xx love The Petal House
