Wow what a season! A huge thankyou to everyone who has loved our flowers this year, for celebrations and commiserations, to share love or sympathy or simply 'I'm thinking of you'.

🌸 Our flowers have featured in photo shoots and picnics, they've brightened homes and been that little pick-me-up or weekly treat. It always amazes me that these gorgeous creations of nature feature in so many moments in our lives. The big, the small, the mundane, the earnest.

We really do say it all with flowers!

(Interestingly though, I'm not aware of arranging any apology bouquets 😂)

❄️ We are now closed for Winter as I get all our Spring crops in the ground. They'll grow through the cold, building their root systems snug underground and getting ready to wow us come August/September.

As for us, although there's lots of prep and planting and irrigation and dirty jobs to do (I love those the best) we will also get a bit of time to chill, get another roadtrip in, find some snow! But I'll still keep you up to date on how the farm is going and what projects are keeping us busy.

(🤔 Also... I'm thinking of having an open day when the Ranunculus are blooming... What do we think? Would you come?)

Wow our first Mother's Day weekend was absolutely incredible! Busy! Exciting! Beautiful! And mostly without hiccups 🙈

I want to say a huge huge thankyou to everyone who chose to share their Mother's Day Love with a bouquet from The Flower Mama 😍 A huge thankyou to Jess who was the most amazing help all weekend. for gorgeous incredible blooms. And thankyou to all those Mama's out there who are doing an amazing job, clearly you are all very loved and appreciated ♥️

(Although I did have one person cancel an order for a Mother-in-Law 🤭)

Here is a peek at the weekend (when I remembered to take some photos)

Tulips galore! My wee girl was a genuine help stripping and snipping chrysanthemums gosh she's amazing! I was up for a gorgeous sunrise ready for the market. Some of our bouquets ready to pick up. (I don't usually do monochrome bouquets but my Wifey is an all white kinda gal and she got my Mother's Day Flowers for the amazing presence she holds in my life .) And then lots of stunning bouquets ready to be delivered.

Our two hiccups over the weekend was the deliveries running late... I planned for afternoon delivery but we had missing letterboxes and locked gates and rabbit warren retirement homes so I am sorry if you had a late drop for your lovely Mama. Next year I'll start deliveries in the morning and hire a second delivery driver. You were all so gracious about the delays and I do so appreciate it 🙏

And the other hiccup wasn't so much a hiccup but I had lots of people stopping in wanting to get large bouquets on the fly or flowers in the stand, but we were all sold out for pre-orders and I had to say no 😢 So next year I will look into how I can meet that need 💐

And then lastly for my own Mother's Day celebration my wee girl came back from Dad's Sunday evening and we went for a delicious gluten free pasta dinner at . Being a solo mama we have a fun tradition now that she LOVES where I take her to the $2 shop and I wait outside and she takes my card and goes and chooses me some presents. It's so fun to see what she picks for me and she feels so grown up.

I got a very bad review for my hat from the mini-boss by the way 😂

I have to wear a brimmed hat at the moment because I'm doing an efudix treatment (ouch thanks New Zealand sun) and she didn't notice me wearing it as I set her up on her bike, she then glanced up and me and laughed like I was completely absurd and said 'mum what are you doing!!!' and I asked 'what do you mean?' and she said 'why are you wearing THAT HAT!!!' and burst out laughing at me like it was the strangest thing she'd ever seen!

Umm ouch!!! What is she 15 already? I thought I had a few more years before she was disapproving of my outfits. Is this what I have to look forward to?

Anyway these pots are the way to go! 🌱 Easy and eco-friendly and quick.

🌿 Also if you want some of those gorgeous white or yellow feverfew plants I obviously have a few ready go 😉 $8 each. Bargain. Just send me a message.

PS (The hat's not that bad is it? 🤦🏼‍♀️😂)

Some orders from the week and few flower stand pics... Someone told me the CCTV sign stands out more than the flowers 😂 😂 but I couldn't find a smaller one! What do you think is it 'stealing' the show? 😉

Well it's been a wild weather week, Saturday we were at the beach digging sand tunnels and swimming, I even got a sunburn on the one spot l
I missed with the sunblock (of course). I was looking out at the gorgeous day and thinking it is hard to believe a cyclone is coming.... And then Sunday that storm came alright!

I'll be harvesting in the morning so I'll see what made it through so we will have flowers out tomorrow a little later, Wednesday and Friday for sure. And taking orders as well ☺️

How did you fare in the storms?

Am I overfeeding the dahlias or underfeeding my child?! 😂

Anyone know this variety? It first popped up where I'd put all my seedling dahlias but surely I haven't grown this behemoth from seed 😲
