A big welcome and thank you to all the new followers and page likers over the past few weeks — it’s been lovely to see so many new faces here since the last market!

Just a little heads up that things may be a bit quieter on the page over the next couple of weeks as I’m heading off on holiday ☀️

But before I go, a date for the diary… the next market will be on Sunday 30th August! So save the date! 📆

It was great to see so many connections being made on Sunday.. with good things already happening 💚

Today was pretty magical. I was blessed to meet the lovely Michelle at the Upcycled Market on Sunday. Today she brought her mothers work to me - I call it The Thalia collection and I am honoured to be its care taker as we organise and sort into The Sparkle Project and then onto others around New Zealand to bring your mums sparkle to them.
Thank you Michelle for sitting with me today and the hugs. Hope to see you again soon.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to yesterday’s market.

To all our wonderful makers and vendors - thank you for sharing your beautiful creations, your passion, your time, and for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for being part of it.

And to everyone who came along to support the event, thank you. Whether you made a purchase, shared kind words, enjoyed a lovely conversation, or simply stopped by with a smile, it meant more than you know. 🫶

There were so many heartfelt conversations throughout the day, and it was incredibly special to see people connecting, sharing ideas, and inspiring one another. We are already excited to see what might grow from those conversations.

A special thank you as well to the weather gods for giving us a sunny day! 🌞

We are already looking forward to the next one, so pop it in your diary, Sunday 30th August.

We know you love sustainable shopping, vintage treasures and giving beautiful clothing a second chance, so this Sunday we’re introducing a small new pre-loved clothing section at the market alongside the upcycled treasures.

Starting off small, our new “Clothing Caboodle” space will feature a carefully selected mix of pre-loved and vintage fashion from a handful of lovely local sellers, with room to grow in future markets.

Come and have a browse, discover some hidden gems, and support sustainable fashion shopping locally this Sunday at the market – we can’t wait to see what you find.

The lovely Christine from Annies Girl will be back with us again on Sunday with her fabulous collection of Upcycled bags - there is bound to be one (or probably more!) that you or of couse mum will love!

The Sparkle Project turns broken jewellery into new treasures that are gifted to those who need a little sparkle.

Come along and have a go at making your own piece. Donate it to the project or keep it with a koha.

A great activity for all ages, and a lovely idea for Mother’s Day.
